Mike Bushell is the sixth contestant confirmed for the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Mike fronts
BBC Breakfast’s sports coverage so hopefully he can get some tips from fellow presenter Naga Munchetty, who took part in the show in 2016.In a statement released shortly after the news was announced, he said: “I’ve heard so many wonderful things from colleagues over the years so thrilled I’m now getting the chance.
“I know I will completely throw myself into the whole experience and I’m sure will love it from start to finish.
“I may have tried and profiled over 500 sports over the years in my Saturday morning BBC Breakfast slot but think the Strictly challenge could be the greatest. Bring on the glitter!”
Mike is joining actress Catherine Tyldesley, former
England goalkeeper David James, comedian Chris Ramsey, EastEnders star Emma Barton and YouTuber Saffron Barker who have already been confirmed for the 2019 series.
There are nine celebrities still to be announced and it’s been rumoured that Alan Carr and Michelle Visage may be among those who have signed up.
The celebrity contestants won’t be the only ones who are new to the ballroom this year, as following the departure of Darcey Bussell, there will be a new judge on the panel in the form of Motsi Mabuse.
As announced earlier this week, new dancer Nancy Xu will also be joining the professional line-up for the new series. READ MORE... Lewis Capaldi Wants To Give
