She said: “Last year I had the incredible opportunity of visiting some of the many beautiful places in my homeland for the first time,” she wrote.
“Returning home to such devastation throughout much of the country is heartbreaking.
“As a family, we’ve donated $500,000 towards the immediate firefighting efforts and the ongoing support which will be required.” View this post on InstagramA post shared by Kylie Minogue (@kylieminogue) on Jan 5, 2020 at 11:28pm PSTMore than 20 people have died and millions of animals are believed to have been killed in the blazes that have ravaged the country in recent months.
At least eight people died last week in New South Wales and neighbouring Victoria, Australia’s two most-populous states, where more than 200 fires are currently burning.
Meanwhile, at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, Russell Crowe was unable to collect an award as he was “protecting his family in Australia”, but sent a message about climate change in the wake of the blaze.
As read out by Jennifer Aniston, Russell said: “Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based.
“We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is. That way we all have a future.” READ MORE... ‘Heartbroken’ Kylie Minogue Matches Pink’s Half A Million Dollar Donation To Australian Firefighters Jeremy Clarkson Blasted For ‘Disgusting’ Comments On Australia Fires Pink Donates Half A Million Dollars To Australian Fire Services As Wildfire Crisis Worsens
