Samantha Markle is ready to set aside her differences and end the beef with half-sister
Meghan Markle. She issued an apology to the newbie royal family member during a televised interview Monday.
Prince Harry's association with the Los Angeles native quickly ignited tension within her family, with Markle seemingly being a primary perpetrator in broadcasting the rocky dynamic.
Markle made an appearance on British talk show Jeremy Vine, where she was asked whether she had anything to say to her sister amid all the drama. In doing so, she explained how she's disappointed with the previous jabs she's made toward the Suits alum. She subsequently issued a formal apology.
"I would just say that there is so much water under the bridge and so much has spun out of control that was never intended to. And you know, I think everybody was hurt not being included or invited to the wedding," she shared with host Jeremy Vine. "I felt as though it could have all been nipped in the bud had everyone been included, and we all just agreed to move forward with positive resolve."
The Duchess of Sussex's estranged sibling, who formerly went by Samantha Grant, claimed the family still cares for her despite the previous tension.
"The hurt feelings wouldn't have snowballed, but believe it or not, it doesn't mean that we love you any less," Markle added. "I just think that families can be this way when there's confusion and people are hurt. So moving forward, I apologize and wish things could be different."
Vine, on the contrary, was skeptical of Markle's intentions. Due to Markle's past declarations against her half-sister, Vine grilled her.
Vine noted how Markle called the ex-actor, who's appeared in films like Remember Me and Horrible Bosses, "Cruella de Vil." He additionally explained how she's behaved in a "consistently rude" manner toward the Duchess of Sussex.
"You want to shame her, that’s what it is," Vine said. "You want to shame her, don't you?"
Markle, who's 17 years older than the former businesswoman, has been the most vocal member of the Duchess' family. In September, Markle referred to her estranged sibling via her private Twitter account as a "DUCHASS" who gives "fake waves and smiles," according to Jezebel. She even equated the former Suits star to the controversial leader President Donald Trump.
Markle intends to write a memoir, titled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, about the royal. While she said the book isn't meant to be a tell-all, it's slated to explore "the interracial evolution of this country through the lens of my life and my family since the civil rights act until present."
