Sharon Tate makeover, and now we're getting a first look at
Margot Robbie's.
The "I, Tonya" star and
Academy Award nominee gave her more than 14 million Instagram followers a peek at her portrayal of the rising actress who was slain at the hands of the Manson family in 1969 when she was just 26 and eight months pregnant. In the image shared Monday, Robbie looks the part in white boots and a mini shift dress.
Robbie, 28, will play Tate in "
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," written and directed by
Quentin Tarantino.
Brad Pitt and
Leonardo DiCaprio also star in the movie, which is slated for a 2019 release.
Tarantino previously described the film's synopsis in a press release: It's “a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor... Sharon Tate.”
Robbie shared her glee about working with Tarantino with USA TODAY in May.
"It’s always been a bucket list thing for me to work on a Tarantino film," she said, "so I’m obviously ridiculously excited and grateful."
