AT LEAST 13 Ryanair passengers have been injured after a packed bus carrying travellers from their plane to a terminal at Frankfurt Airport collided with another vehicle on the tarmac.
Fire crews and ambulances descended on the scene after the collision.
Authorities say 72 passengers were on board when the smash happened.
Thirteen of them suffered injuries along with the driver of the other vehicle, thought to be a luggage hauler.
At least one person has been rushed to hospital for treatment.
The plane they were travelling on had landed from Seville.
Photos from the scene showed emergency service vehicles lining up to help the injured.
An investigation is underway into how the crash happened at Germany’s largest airport.
Local media said initial reports indicated the hauler had ignored the bus’s right of way.
The plane had landed at the airport just before 2pm local time (1pm GMT).
Frankfurt is one of the busiest airports in the world.
More than 60 million passengers pass through it every year to a host of major international destinations.
There have been several similar accidents reported at the airport before.
Local media said one occurred just last month when another passenger bus colluded with a vehicle, leaving 11 people injured.
In 2014, a minibus collided with a baggage hauler, leaving five people hurt.
