The preshow is set to stream Jan. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. ET (3-5 p.m. PT) and can be found exclusively on the award show’s Facebook page.The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions announced Tuesday that they will officially partner with Facebook for this year’s Golden Globes, offering an exclusive live stream of the red carpet via the social media outlet.
The two-hour stream, dubbed “The HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet Live,” will act as this year’s official red-carpet preshow and the HFPA will share exclusive coverage from both the red carpet and backstage, updating live on the Golden Globes Facebook page. The Facebook red-carpet content will include 360-degree videos that will allow viewers to explore creative and dynamic content of the ceremony for the first time. A behind-the-scenes and real-time glimpse of the 75th Annual Golden Globes will also be updated on the ceremony’s Instagram account, @goldenglobes.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Facebook and give viewers a front row seat to the red carpet that can’t be found anywhere else,” said HFPA President Meher Tatna of the new partnership. “We hope to enhance the overall viewing experience so fans at home can feel they’re enjoying the show alongside their favorite stars at Hollywood’s biggest party of the year.”
Facebook's head of entertainment partnerships, Sibyl Goldman, shared the excited sentiments, viewing the partnership as an outlet for the social media site to further “create unique experiences.” “Facebook has had a long collaborative relationship with the entertainment community, and we’re thrilled to be able to extend that through our work with the Golden Globes,” said Goldman. “We always aim to create unique experiences which bring communities together, and partaking in the kickoff of award season in conjunction with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, is a demonstration of our commitment to bring fans together through entertainment they enjoy.”
Hosts for the preshow will include A.J. Gibson, Jeannie Mai, Scott Mantz and Laura Marano. Marano will host the ceremony’s @Instagram story, which is followed by 229 million.
The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, Jan. 7, from 8 to 11 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. PT) on NBC. Late Night’s Seth Meyers will make his hosting debut and emcee the ceremony.
