Disney Plus has cancelled one of its most popular series - after it was hyped massively by viewers.
Disney is scrapping a TV show based on the Indiana Jones franchise, according to reports. A planned Indiana Jones spin-off show has been axed. It comes ahead of the next movie release later this year and follows Disney bosses reportedly being unhappy with the project's progress.
Hollywood insider and film critic Jeff Sneider confirmed that he had heard from a good source that the show was no longer in the works. Jeff said: "I'm told that the Ravenwood Indiana Jones series at LucasFilm is dead, and I'm told that Disney's told Lucasfilm, 'You're only making
Star Wars stuff from now on'." READ MORE Alison Hammond
police release man, 36, after 'blackmail' arrest "They cancelled Willow. They have Indiana Jones 5 coming out, but you tell me, does that feel like one of the biggest movies of the summer when people are talking about Oppenheimer and Barbie and Fast X. Does that feel like one of the biggest movies of the summer?" he added. Starring Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, and Mads Mikkelsen, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny opens in theaters June 30 from Disney and Lucasfilm. The news follows the Willow was axed. Willow showrunner Jonathan Kasdan soon clarified the situation. "I feel fairly confident that, if asked, neither I, nor the folks at Lucasfilm, would or have actually characterized it [as a cancellation]," Kasdan wrote. "The truth is less splashy, but here it is: A decision was made last week to release our main cast for other series opportunities that may arise for them in the coming year," he continued. "With all the TV and movies in production around the world, it feels unfair to limit an actor's availability without a clear sense of when you're going to need them again."
