LONDON Bridge railway station has been evacuated and emergency services have rushed to the scene just one day after the terror attack on a packed commuter train at Parsons Green.Images of the scene taken by a Daily Star reporter show ambulances and armed police officers outside the station.
The gates into London Bridge underground station have been shut and travellers have been advised to find alternative routes.
A statement from British Transport Police reads: "Officers have been called to London Bridge station after receiving reports that a person had been struck by a train.
"Paramedics are on site alongside officers and a woman is being treated for injuries. She will be taken to hospital for further assessment.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
Britain's terror alert was increased to 'critical' yesterday evening, meaning a terror attack is expected imminently, in the wake of an explosion on a packed commuter train at Parsons Green tube station which left 30 people injured.
As she made the announcement yesterday, Theresa May said military personnel will replace police officers on guard duties and warned the public would see a greater presence of armed police on the streets.
She also urged the public to go about their “business in a normal way.”
The Prime Minister said: “The joint terrorism and analysis centre, the independent organisation responsible for setting the threat level on the basis of available intelligence has now decided to raise it from severe to critical.
“This means that a further attack may be imminent. Following JTAC decision, the police have asked for authorisation from the Secretary of Defence to enact part of the first phase of Operation Tempera.
"This is well-established plan to derive military support to the police.
“Military personnel are going to replace police officers on guard duty at certain protected sights that are accessible to the public.
"The public will see more armed police officers on the transport network and on our streets providing extra protection and this is a proportionate and sensible step which will provide extra reassurances and protection while the investigation progresses."
London Bridge was the scene of one of the worst terror attacks the capital has ever seen after three men went on a van and knife rampage in June, killing eight people and injuring 48 others.
A van left the road and rammed into pedestrians on London Bridge before three attackers wearing fake suicide vests got out and began stabbing people indiscriminately around Borough Market in the heart of central London.
