Twitter account suspended following a series of controversial posts.
The former Celebrity Big Brother and The Apprentice contestant caused a storm with her comments on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down from royal duties.
She has a reach of more than one million followers on her Twitter profile.
The move from Twitter comes after campaigners, including Countdown presenter
Rachel Riley, demanded action from the social media network after accusing her of spreading hate.
Riley met Twitter representatives with the Centre for Countering Digital Hate campaign group in a call to remove Hopkins' account. Chief executive Imran Ahmed told The Independent: "We are pleased that preliminary action appears to have been taken by Twitter against the identity-based hate actor, Katie Hopkins following productive discussions with Twitter’s UK office. " Many of Hopkins' tweets have caused controversy. Little Mix star Jesy Nelson revealed how one of the tweets about her left he severely depressed.
