Piers Morgan might have boycotted attending last night’s National Television Awards, but he still watched from home where he made his feelings very clear about new host David Walliams.
Piers Morgan Labels David Walliams A D***head After Annoying and Smug NTAs Presenting Debut
The Good Morning Britain presenter didn’t hold back when it came to the Britain’s Got Talent judge, labelling him a “dickhead” on Twitter.
David took over hosting duties from Dermot O’Leary for this year’s NTAs after the X Factor presenter announced he was stepping down last year. However, his first stint fronting the annual bash came under heavy fire from Piers throughout the night.
“David Walliams already very very annoying. #NTAs,” he quipped at the start of the show.David Walliams already very very annoying. #NTAs— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 28, 2020Piers then name-checked Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais, who was in the audience, tweeting: “Walliams bombing so badly. Unbearable to know @rickygervais is sitting in the audience but we have to endure this horror hosting. Come on Ricky, storm the stage.”Walliams bombing so badly.Unbearable to know @rickygervaisis sitting in the audience but we have to endure this horror hosting. “F*** me. Just when you thought it couldn’t possibly get any worse, creepy Walliams strips half naked to give himself an award,” he wrote.F*ck me. Walliams dying on his fat smug a** is most amusing. https://t.co/B7ejcITOqK— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 28, 2020Piers has made no secret of his dislike of David, previously branding him a “snivelling toady” after the comedian and author liked a string of tweets criticising him despite being nice to his face.
And it wasn’t just David who was a target...I can hardly bare the suspense to see if Ant & Dec and Holly & Phil win again, or Walliams gives himself an award. The #NTAs are always SO tense... SO unpredictable!— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 28, 2020They’re as shocked as I am. pic.twitter.com/Vkw3JYV7wo— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 28, 2020Awww, they feel more sick every year... yep, know the feeling boys. 🤮 pic.twitter.com/EEy3ugBnFQ— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 28, 2020On Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain, Piers revealed he was boycotting this year’s NTAs because he didn’t want to see Ant and Dec win and This Morning beat GMB again.
“I would rather garrotte myself than sit through another Ant and Dec, Holly and Phil carve up so I will be at home with a nice bottle of wine,” he said.
He added: “The winners have to be Holly and Phil and Ant and Dec. I’m not saying they fix, but they have the same agent.
“It’s important that they win not least for their gigantic egos.”MORE NTAS: 10 Key Moments You Need To See From The NTAs 2020 NTAs Host David Walliams Booed For Caroline Flack Joke David Walliams Transforms Into Fellow BGT Judges For NTAs Sketch And The Results Can't Be Unseen
