Zac Efron has assured fans he is doing well after reports claimed he was rushed to hospital with a “deadly illness” while filming a new reality show.
It had been reported that the former High School Musical star was flown by helicopter from Papua New Guinea to Australia for treatment after contracting a bacterial infection, possibly typhoid.
The 32-year-old has since broken his silence on the story, admitting he had been taken ill, but had recovered and returned home to the US for the Christmas. Zac shared a photograph from his trip on
Instagram and wrote: “Very thankful to everyone who has reached out.
“I did get sick in Papua New Guinea but I bounced back quick and finished an amazing 3 weeks in P.N.G.
“I’m home for the holidays with my friends and family.
