James Bond comes face to face with the woman who appears to have replaced him as 007 in the first trailer for No Time To Die.
James Bond Meets Rumoured Female 007 In No Time To Dies First Trailer
The first look at the 25th film in the Bond franchise debuted on Thursday, showing Daniel Craig back in the role of James Bond but no longer working as 007.Bond meets with his replacement, Nomi (played by Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch), who tells him: “The world has moved on Commander Bond. You get in my way, I will put a bullet in your knee. The one that works.”
When Bond asks her if she is a double 00, she confirms she has been for the last two years.
The trailer also shows Bond with Madeleine Swann, who he ran off with at the end of 2015’s Spectre and with whom he’s been living off-grid in Jamaica until he is called back into action by the CIA’s Felix Leiter.
We also the return of Christoph Waltz as Ernst Blofeld, who appears to confirm Bond’s fears that his lover has betrayed him, telling him: “When her secret finds its way out it will the death of you.”There is also a brief look at Rami Malek’s mysterious villain Safin, who seems to be heavily scarred and covers much of his face with a white mask.
Bond encounters him during a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist, and it was previously revealed Safin will be “armed with dangerous new technology”.No Time To Die was shot in the UK, Jamaica and locations around Europe earlier this year, and will be Daniel Craig’s final outing as the titular secret agent.
Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been brought on board as a member of the writing team, and previously said she is hoping to make the film’s female characters feel more well-rounded.The film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, has been beset by issues in recent months, with a “controlled explosion” damaging the outside of the famous 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire earlier this year, leaving a crew member injured.
No-one working inside the studio was hurt, but one crew member outside suffered a “minor injury”.
Filming also had to be delayed when its leading man was injured while filming in Jamaica, forcing the actor, 51, to undergo “minor ankle surgery”.
No Time To Die is released in UK cinemas on 2 April 2020.READ MORE...
