The contenders for next year’s Grammys have been unveiled, and it’s first-time nominees Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Lizzo that are dominating the shortlist.
Grammys 2020 Nominations Revealed: Lizzo, Billie Eilish And Lil Nas X Dominate
Lizzo is up for a total of eight awards, including both Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for Truth Hurts (which is pretty mad, considering it was released in 2017), while her major debut Cuz I Love You is also up for Album Of The Year.Meanwhile, Billie and Lil Nas X are both up for six awards, with the latter’s hit Old Town Road also up for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year, as is Billie’s Bad Guy.
All three of them will also face off in the Best New Artist category, opposite Maggie Rogers, Black Pumas and Rosalía.Aside from those three, Ariana Grande has secured four nominations, following her win last year, while the Beyoncé-curated Lion King soundtrack has secured three nods, with an additional nomination for her Netflix documentary Homecoming.
