A new waxwork of
Lady Gaga in character as Harley Quinn has been unveiled and fans are all feeling a certain type of way about it – that is to say, not good. Pictures of the wax figure have gone viral on
Social Media since they were shared on Friday night, with it branded everything from ‘nightmare fuel’ to a cosplay version of the award-winning
Singer and
Actress. Multiple fans have also begged Ripley’s Believe It Or Not to ‘undebut’ the waxwork, which features the 38-year-old star in costume and make-up as DC character Harley. She plays the role opposite Joaquin Phoenix ’s Arthur Fleck, aka Joker , in the upcoming movie Joker: Folie à Deux , which is set to be a musical sequel to 2019’s Oscar-winning Joker. The wax statue has Gaga’s Harley in her red jacket with frilled sleeves over a black and white harlequin patterned top, a black skirt and blue harlequin tights, with black smeared eye makeup and bright red lipstick over a rather oddly done mouth. ‘No poker faces over here, only Joker faces,’ wrote the official Ripley’s X account next to a photo of the waxwork and a version of Phoenix’s Joker in his red suit and heavy clown makeup, responding to the interest. ‘What the hell in the crack world is this? I’m speechless,’ posted flabbergasted fan @_positions_, while @PixieVanora joked: ‘I can in fact, not believe it.’ Focusing on the problem area of the wax Gaga’s mouth and teeth, Mark Sunstrom compared it to creepy horror flick Smile, while @Mimasaur added: ‘It looks like it bites.’ ‘This person hates lady Gaga? Or???’ asked Daniel Obuté, while Naima Cochrane wrote: ‘This is like, a Ripley’s outpost right? Like a truck stop Ripley’s?’ ‘Please stay in line if you have personally been traumatised by the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Lady Gaga wax figure!’ quipped @mrgnfnn on Reddit. Others couldn’t help but feel the waxwork looked more like drag artist Katya too, with @boulderproblems posting: ‘I thought this was Katya for a second.’ The Ripley’s account continued to interact with some of the criticism too, with one fan claiming they were ‘under arrest’ for their efforts, to which they responded with a meme of The Bing Bang Theory’s Sheldon in a ball pit declaring: ‘But you’ll never catch me.’ Folie à Deux is set to hit cinemas in October, after the first film generated more than $1billion at the

trailer releasing, but it’s understood that it will be more of a jukebox musical affair, with at least 15 cover songs, according to Variety . It has also been reported that Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – went to extreme lengths to stay in character on set. The film’s cinematographer has revealed the Born This Way hitmaker insisted on being called ‘Lee’ while on set to be in the right mindset. ‘I didn’t know Stefani at all,’ Larry Sher told The Trenches Talk podcast . ‘Strangely, I felt like I never even met her, even during the makeup/hair tests. Maybe it was my philosophy of not trying to get in their space. And then I remember for a week, being like, “God, I feel like we are disconnecting. Not even connecting. We are like on opposites.” ‘And I would say to my crew, “Jesus, I can’t crack it. She either hates me or we hate each other. There’s something weird going on here.”‘ Sher, who also worked as a cinematographer on the first Joker film, then revealed he cracked the key to striking up a friendship with the
Actor. ‘I barely said anything, except I would say, “Stefani, this is where your second team was,” minor little things, and then the AD at one point said, “Oh you know, Stef would like if you just called her Lee on set,’” Sher continued. ‘And I was like, “100%.” The next thing I said was something “Lee,” and it was like everything changed.
