The internet lost its mind when Prince Harry and
Meghan Markle queued up to meet
Beyoncé for the first time.
The Duke and
Duchess of Sussex attended the
UK premiere of “
The Lion King” on Sunday night, and while Beyoncé, 37, stunned in a custom gold Cong Tri gown that featured a slit all the way up to her waist along with Jimmy Choo heels ($875) and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Markle took inspiration from Audrey Hepburn once again.
The new mom, 37, chose a black Jason Wu dress ($2,450) with an illusion top and sheer sleeves for the special occasion. She accessorized with Aquazzura heels ($950), a Gucci clutch ($2,390) and Nikos Koulis diamond and black enamel stud earrings ($12,204).
Meghan and Harry exchanged hugs with Beyoncé (who voices an adult Nala in the Disney movie) and
Jay-Z as well as Elton John, Pharrell Williams and director Jon Favreau after walking the gold carpet.
What exactly did Beyoncé and Meghan Markle discuss? Their children, of course. The “Halo” hitmaker reportedly told the duchess that baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is “so beautiful.” Meanwhile, Harry inquired why the Carters’ children Blue Ivy, 7, and 2-year-old twins Sir and Rumi skipped the big night.
Perhaps a play date is in order once Archie learns how to crawl.
