PewDiePie finally let
Elon Musk loose on his channel after the pair teased the collab for weeks – and they brought along
Rick and Morty co-creator
Justin Roiland for good measure.
What a combo. In a new video, titled ‘Will Smith hosts Meme Review’, the Swedish gamer – real name Felix Kjellberg – introduced the pair by saying Elon’s appearance would ‘make his life’. ‘Will Elon Musk host Meme Review?’ he asked. ‘Gosh darn, it would make my life. It would make this channel…It would save us from T-Series.’ And it seems Felix and his fans got their wish as the video cuts to Justin Roiland saying: ‘Hey, welcome to Meme Review, with your hosts: me, Justin Roiland, and Elon Musk.’ ‘Yeah, welcome, welcome, welcome. Hey Felix,’ Elon grinned.
Reviewing memes featuring the likes of Bernie Sanders, Stuart Little and, of course, Elon himself, it was a wild ride. ‘Is that trippy? For real, there’s a meme with you in it. Are you sort of like, “What the hell?”‘ Justin asked. ‘The past couple of years, particularly last year, it was like meme city,’ the Tesla CEO explained. ‘Good luck with all this footage,’ Justin grinned at the end. And fans could not be more here for it after the pair have been teasing the collab for weeks:
Meanwhile, Elon is clearly doing the YouTube rounds, as Felix’s friend MrBeast revealed he’d be making an appearance on his channel. ‘Elon Musk hosted meme review at the worst time, we are filming a big video tomorrow. I’ll try to buy the Tesla on Sunday,’ the 20-year-old tweeted. And the collaboration caused a much-needed spike in subscribers for PewDiePie after fans began to panic as the gap between Felix and competitor Indian music label T-Series dropped to its lowest yet.
