Vinnie Jones has received the seal of approval from members of his new girlfriend’s family after they went public with their love this week. The 59-year-old footballer-turned-actor was left heartbroken in 2019 when his wife, Tanya Terry, died at the age of 53 following a battle with
cancer. The
British star had previously lamented that he feared he would never be able to fall in love again - but this week has shared the happy news he is dating Emma Ford, 47, a script supervisor. The pair fell for each other after meeting on the set of the ex-footballer’s TV show Vinnie Jones in the Country. On Thursday, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Vinnie opened up about his new romance - explaining how he is still grieving for his late wife but learning to enjoy being in love again. He said: “Moving forwards, we meet other people that we are fond of and we fall in love with and vice versa.” Now family members of Emma - who also works as Vinnie’s PA - have shared their views on the blossoming romance and given their verdict. Her uncle, David Ford, has expressed his own happiness at seeing Emma and Vinnie fall for each other - and hinted his family had suspected for some time that a relationship was forming between the two. I am glad she is settling down. It’s amazing news. I’ve never poked my nose in but when I saw him doing his show on the farm and she was in the background we knew they were an item. The whole family wishes them a lifetime of happiness." He added: "She goes all over the world with him. She lives between here and America while I’m a man who lives in sunny Somerset so we don’t see that much of her." Meanwhile, other members of Emma’s family, who hail from Bridgewater in Somerset, told the outlet that they wish “lifetime of happiness” for the new couple. Vinnie has been open about having his heart broken by the loss of his wife in the past. Opening up to the Mirror in 2019, he revealed he kept a love letter close to his hear wherever he goes - with the note penned by Tanya before her death. He explained at the time: “I broke down. Now, I take it everywhere I go so Tanya is always with me.” He explained that the note, which included the phrase “Always Believe Something Wonderful is Going to Happen”, had been written by her shortly before her tragic death. Vinnie said: “She left it with her precious diaries. “Inside she had written: ‘To my love Vin, something wonderful happens to me every day. It’s being with you. You are my morning sunshine the moment I wake. All my love, Tanya. I broke down when I read it because I loved her like that too.” Now the star has confessed he is overjoyed to have found love with Emma. He said in an interview with the Mirror this week: “I'm enjoying the joy in life.
