It will go down as one of the all time great dramatic finishes. And the seven goal classic at Stamford Bridge also had the latest winning goal in
Premier League history. What a turnaround. Chelsea's hat trick hero Cole Palmer only equalised in the 100th minute - and got the dramatic winner a minute later. 100 minutes and 39 seconds to be precise. Just to rub salt in the wounds, Palmer was a boyhood
Manchester United fan, got barracked by the away fans and then had the last laugh as he celebrated his first ever career hat trick.
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino went from looking utterly broken to running onto the pitch as all hell broke loose at the end. You had to feel for United who had fought back from 2-0 down, led 3-2 with 99 minutes on the clock and still lost. Chelsea's Cole Palmer changes celebration and has last laugh after Man Utd fans' taunts Cole Palmer's late Chelsea hat-trick seals stoppage time win over Man Utd - 5 talking points Erik ten Hag ended up being left in despair and his United future may ultimately be decided by the craziness of it all because their already slim chances of making the
Champions League now look dead in the water. Incredibly, it was Chelsea’s first win over United in 13 Premier League games and no-one will ever forget it either for the sheer drama and rollercoaster of emotions. Chelsea’s season has been on a knife-edge the whole way through and yet they are still capable of producing just the most incredible drama. For United, it says more about their ability to self destruct and, while they can count themselves desperately unlucky to lose, the best teams would never crumble like that. To be 3-2 up so late on and still throw it away, no wonder United’s players sank to their knees at the final whistle in utter despair. They looked utterly broken with their whole season falling apart. Chelsea, meanwhile, were just so pumped early on. They were 1-0 up after just four minutes as Malo Gusto broke down the left, his cross deflected off Raphael Varane and fell perfectly for Conor Gallagher to
fire home. Palmer was being taunted by the United fans who chanted: “City reject.” But Palmer put Chelsea 2-0 up after 19 minutes from the penalty spot after United winger Antony’s clumsy challenge on Marc Cucurella. The Blues playmaker scored twice from the spot United looked in disarray. Casemiro looked to be running through treacle and yet they were dangerous going forward and Chelsea let them back into the contest as they pressed the self destruct button. Bruno Fernandes sliced the ball into the air, Antony just about kept it in and then Moises Caicedo horrible error presented the ball to Alejandro Garnacho who kept his head to slot into the bottom corner. Chelsea’s confidence is so fragile that you could see their belief drain away. United were level after 39 minutes when Diogo Dalot’s deep cross found Fernandes unmarked at the back post and he headed home as Chelsea’s defence had gone AWOL. Man Utd were left stunned as they departed empty handed Gallagher hit the post, Palmer was denied by Andre Onana and then United suffered more injuries as Varane went off at half time but his replacement, Jonny Evans, only lasted 20 minutes. But United were ahead after 67 minutes. Antony broke forward, his pass was sensational as he played the ball with the outside of his left foot and in darted Garnacho to head home his second goal. But deep into injury time, Diogo Dalot brought down Noni Madueke and a penalty was given after a long VAR check. Palmer struck home the penalty and then hit the winner a minute later amid sheer penalty box mayhem. Join our new
