P Diddy could lose his multi-million-dollar homes after they were raided by Homeland Security, according to legal experts. The rapper's sprawling properties in both Miami and
Los Angeles were swooped on by law enforcement last week as part of an investigation into sex tracking. He'd only just returned to his $35million pad on Star Island, but now they could both be seized. That's according to litigation partner Priya Sopori who says Diddy's mansions "could be included or referenced in the indictment as a means that served the ends of those alleged crimes", revealing they could well be taken by the government. "Were these properties an effective co-conspirator in these alleged crimes — allowing and facilitating Mr. Combs’ alleged engagement in illegal activities? If so, and if Mr. Combs were to be found guilty of those alleged crimes, then the properties themselves could be seized by the government," Sopori told
Fox News Digital. They explained Homeland Security could return to search his "wall safes, guest houses or garages" if they haven't already in last week's raids. "Oftentimes, areas within the properties that are subject to their own ‘expectation of privacy’ will be subject to separate grounds within the search warrant for the properties," she explained. Despite the risk of Diddy's homes being seized, another legal expert reckons it will be "difficult to prove" Diddy's homes were connected to criminal activity. Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani told the outlet: "RICO does allow for the forfeiture of properties that are the proceeds of criminal activity. New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available." Diddy's lawyer Aaron Dyer shared a statement with us on Tuesday. It read: "Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs' residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated." He added: "This unprecedented ambush -- paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence -- leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name."
