It has been an emotional night on Married at First Sight Australia as groom Timothy finally opened up to his wife Lucinda. Describing himself as a "slow burner" Timothy was refusing to open up and get close with his wife. Timothy entered the experiment just six weeks after his father died, having already lost his mum and brother. In very emotional scenes Timothy opened up to Lucinda about his loss. Want less ads? I'm definitely guarded... you tell everyone you don't have a heart, I don't really let too many people in, closing myself off is the way I protect myself.... it is losing the family and the biggest thing I lost was myself." He said: "I guess just being around everybody and hearing everybody just brings it all to light and losing yourself... you just don't know who you are anymore... I'm in uncharted territory, it just cut so deep, I feel lost. I know Lucinda doesn't think I'm weak because I show emotion, Lucinda is a rock." The breakthrough meant Lucinda and Timothy have started becoming closer as a married couple, with Timothy showing his more vulnerable side. Lucinda said: "I've never seen that side of Tim, I just felt like so many walls came down, it was a real turn around." Elsewhere in the show one couple was rocked by a cheating scandal . Michael and Stephen entered the series as a late couple, after Michael's original match quit the show. While getting their hair cut for a photoshoot for the E4 series, two weeks into their marriage, Michael was horrified when he saw Stephen flirting with the hairdresser. Things got worse when Michael discovered that Stephen was texting the hairdresser and continuing the flirting and it resulted in Michael taking off his wedding ring and storming out.
