Giovanni Pernice’s future on
Strictly Come Dancing continues to be debated after a string of former co-stars complained about him. The 33-year-old Italian dance professional has been one of the pro dancers on the hit
BBC show Strictly since joining the cast in 2015 during season 13. But since he dropped out of the 2023 season after 52-year-old partner Amanda Abbington succumbed to injury, there have been persistent reports that some former dance partners have struggled to perform with him. There have been reports that co-stars have complained Giovanni is too “intense” to train and dance with. There are fears that the star could be denied a return to Strictly in 2024 as one of the professionals as a consequence. The latest reports on the drama suggest the BBC are sticking firmly beside the Italian dance star. An update has been provided following reports that Amanda, along with former Strictly contestants Ranvir Singh and Laura Whitmore met to discuss their experiences of working with Giovanni. New reports also suggest Steps star Faye Tozer also struggled to work with him and broke down into tears following an appearance together on It Takes Two. Job of hiding it. Instead, he has been celebrating the fact he is enjoying a successful live tour - titled Let Me Entertain You. The dance show is taking Giovanni across the
UK where he is dancing and performing for fans - and on Saturday night, Ipswich in East Anglia had the delight of having the star in town to perform. He took to
Social Media to show off the fact that his show had sold out - and the theatre he performed in was packed. Taking to
Instagram Stories, he shared a short clip of himself walking onto the stage while there was silence all around. He jokingly said: “So we are in Ipswich tonight. It’s one of my favourite places in the entire world . I have to be honest. Everything in Ipswich works better. But unfortunately tonight, nobody came to watch the show.” The lights in the theatre then went up, showing a sold-out crowd of thrilled fans who all started screaming and cheering. Giovanni then declared: “Ipswich what do we like to say? Thank you! Thank you. I love you.” He then shared another clip showing him standing at the front of the stage while the sold out audience cheered and chanted his name. He added a caption to the clip, writing: “When thousands screaming my name, only one feeling: GRATEFUL! I love you.” Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram ,
