Manchester United youngsters Finley McAllister, Zach Baumann and Jacob Devaney took part in first-team training at Carrington on Thursday. McAllister, 17, Baumann, 17, and Devaney, 16, have all featured heavily for the Under-18s this season and they were drafted into the session to make up numbers ahead of Brentford. The U18s sit at the top of their league and have lost just one game all campaign. They are on course to win the title and the opportunity to train with the first team is recognition of the excellent progress that McAllister, Baumann and Devaney have made in the youth set-up. Salford-born McAllister signed his first professional contract with United in July and although he's versatile and can play at right-back, his natural position is defensive midfield. England throughout different youth ages and he's a huge United fan, often travelling to away games in the
Premier League to watch the senior team. Baumann began this season playing for the U18s, but he's represented United's Under-21s in their last few matches and he's another highly regarded prospect in the academy. The youngster plays in midfield and is comfortable in prominent positions. He was born in Greater Manchester but is eligible to represent Ukraine's national team. Devaney, who will celebrate his 17th birthday in June, is also a defensive midfielder and he's played 18 of a possible 19 games in the U18s' tremendous league campaign. He was born in Yorkshire and his father, Martin Devaney, is the assistant coach at League One club Barnsley. Devaney qualifies to play for the Republic of
Ireland through his grandparents. Harry Amass, Habeeb Ogunneye, Ethan Wheatley, Sonny Aljofree and Louis Jackson were the other youngsters to take part but they all have previous experience of senior training.
