Marvel's Fantastic Four reboot is reportedly coming down to some official casting decisions. A new episode of The Hot Mic has reported the scoops that Mission: Impossible
Actress Vanessa Kirby is upwards of "95%" confirmed to play Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman), while Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn is about 80-90% confirmed to be playing Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch. NOTE: An earlier version of this story reported "Jack Quaid" being cast as Johnny Storm, as per the original source reporting. That source reporting was later corrected to "Joseph Quinn" landing the role. Jeff Sneider claims that Vanessa Kirby is the one that Marvel Studios is building the film around , having landed her first. ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis spoke to Kirby during the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning press tour (see video above). Kirby played coy about possibly getting the Sue Storm role , only saying "It would be an honor." However, her M:I 7 co-star Pom Klementieff (Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy ) was in the room, and was clearly excited about the prospect of Kirby in the Marvel Cinematic Universe . And rightly so: Kirby has become an international breakout star, holding down key roles in major franchises like Mission: Impossible and The Fast Saga's Hobbs & Shaw spinoff. She also proved her dramatic acting skills during her years in the theater, as well as her harrowing Oscar-nominated performance as a grieving mother in the film Pieces of a Woman . It would be interesting to see Quinn go from a geeky underdog role to smarmy-guy Johnny Storm – who has been portrayed in previous Fantastic Four films by the likes of
Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan. Other parts of Sneider's addressed rumors that actors Matt Smith and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are also circling Fantastic Four – while not debunking it totally, Sneider seemed skeptical about Smith, in particular. Fans have been weighing in on all this, with leading rumors being Moss-Bachrach will take on Reed Richards while Matt Smith could play Norin Radd, aka the Silver Surfer (or vice versa). Galactus being the villain of F4 has been a toss-up with Doctor Doom since the beginning, but Sneider reports that it will be Galactus, and a Latino
