The Glens gaffer is preparing his squad for their biggest game in a decade, as they look to banish the demons of their 2013 semi-final defeat to Auchinleck Talbot when they face Dundee East Craigie in tomorrow's last four tie. The club have lifted the trophy four times in their history and you have to go back to 1939 for the last time they managed it. He said: “It’s 48 years since we last made a final and it’s only the second time we’ve been in the semi-finals in 10 years so it’s a huge game for the club. “These opportunities don’t come along every day. The Scottish Junior Cup (Image: SNS Group) “We will try to instil that in the players this week and get their mindset sorted. “But if they can’t get their minds set for a semi-final of the Scottish Cup, then they shouldn’t be playing football. “Sean McGuire, who is celebrating his testimonial this year, played in the Auchinleck game 10 years ago, Martin McBride and Mick O’Byrne have played in the latter stages of cup competitions so we will be looking to them and our club captain Tam Miller to calm the nerves of the younger players because we have got a young squad. “The likes of Matty Greer, Ross Smith, Scott Schoneville and even Jack McIlveen are all still young. And Harvey believes his West of Scotland First Division team will need to be at their best to progress. Everybody is telling me we should beat them, but you don’t get to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup without having something. “I’m quite sure East Craigie were quite happy when the draw was made that they got us instead of Glenafton or Cumnock, so we will need to be at the top of our game to get through. “If anybody leaves anything behind, we’ll find ourselves out of the Scottish Cup and they’ll have missed an opportunity to play in a final.” Glens boss Willie Harvey (Image: Dominic Cocozza) Glens, who beat Larkhall Thistle in the quarter-finals in February, are hoping the town come out in their numbers and the club have plenty of support already booked up for the trip to West Lothian. Harvey added: “We’ve got a couple of buses going from our stadium so we should have a good crowd there. “Hopefully the people of Rutherglen get behind us, help us make it a memorable occasion and cheer the boys on.” The match, which kicks-off at 2pm, is pay at the gate with adult tickets £10 and children under 16/over-60s £5.
