Mary Trump 'energized' as uncle 'Donald's campaign spirals into chaos'
Mar 29, 2024
Donald Trump's campaign is in chaos, and his niece says she's energized.Mary Trump, the niece of the former president and a psychologist by trade, has previously been critical of her uncle. On Thursday, she said her uncle's failures are adding up.ALSO READ: A neuroscientist reveals how Trump and Biden's cognitive impairments are different"As the RNC’s fundraising falters and Donald’s campaign spirals into chaos, I am energized!" she said in a Substack post. She then continued:"When Donald dominates the news cycle, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed. Every bad headline has a negative impact. But then I remember something crucial: There’s usually more to the story than meets the eye. I’m determined to cut through the media noise and share with you all the good that happened this week. These are the headlines we need to remain energized and hopeful that the media largely ignored."Mary Trump goes on to highlight President Joe Biden's recent fundraising hauls."President Biden’s $155 million+ war chest has just received another turbo boost, bringing the total of cash on hand to at least $180 million. (By comparison, between his campaign and the RNC, Donald barely has over $50 million — and continues to drain the accounts to cover his absolutely staggering legal expenses)," she wrote. "This is a development that could significantly increase Biden’s ability to influence the narrative in crucial swing states."This, she says, also tells us a lot about voter excitement for Biden."While critics have expressed doubts about the degree to which the Democratic base is fired up as compared to 2020, today’s $25 million fundraiser, raised with donations ranging from $250 to $500,000, should put any doubts to rest — yes, we are absolutely behind President Biden and Vice President Harris and we’re in this fight until the end," she wrote.Read the full post here.

'Is there no depth?' Ex-prosecutor shreds Trump's personal attack on judge's daughter
Mar 29, 2024
Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann took his time on MSNBC Wednesday to lay into former President Donald Trump for his mounting personal attacks on the family of Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing Trump's New York hush money trial — including unsubstantiated allegations about his daughter."Andrew, I cease to be able to be surprised, except that Donald Trump is now literally making up a story about Judge Merchan's daughter, posting about it, railing about it, naming her by name," said anchor Joy Reid. "And there's still nothing anyone can do to stop it?""It actually is something that could be stopped," said Weissmann. "There could be the gag order could apply to both the judge and the judge's family. And this is one where as a matter of grace, the judges have not imposed the gag order as to themselves. It reminds me when Amy Berman Jackson — Roger Stone had posted a picture with crosshairs next to her, and she said, you couldn't find another photo that didn't have that there? And judges, I think, bend over backwards, but it will be interesting to see whether Judge Merchan does expand it."ALSO READ: A neuroscientist reveals how Trump and Biden's cognitive impairments are different"But I would just like to step back to, it is true that you see this and you think, it's just Donald Trump. It's just Donald Trump. More of the same," Weissmann continued. "It is really important not to just normalize this. I mean, so many people talk about sort of predicting what would a Trump 2.0 administration be, and should we really think he's going to be a dictator and what will happen. And my response to that is, you can look right now at what he's doing and saying, and for people who are fair-minded, I would say, what do you say about somebody who attacks the daughter of a judge?""That's right," said Reid."I mean, is there no depth to which he will not descend?" Weissmann added. "It's so important to not get inured to what this is.""Yeah, and I mean the bottom line is the reason he's attacking Judge Merchan and his family is the same reason he attacks [special counsel] Jack Smith," said Reid. "They won't stop prosecuting him and he can't delay the trials anymore. He's found a way to even the delay the Georgia trial. They literally went after Fani Willis' relationship, that had nothing to do with the case. That did delay it. This is the one case he can't stop. He knows it's coming and therefore he's trying to personally destroy this man's family."Watch the video below or at the link. Trump's 'volatile' Truth Social stock will tank until the company is bankrupt: expert
Mar 29, 2024
Trump Media and Technology Group, the company that handles the former president's Truth Social platform, went public this month, after a long-sought merger that creates billions in market cap. But already, the newly created stock is proving to be volatile.According to USA TODAY, "Donald Trump’s namesake social media company burst out of the gate on its first day of trading Tuesday, opening at $70.90 and soaring as high as $79.38 as Trump fans and opportunistic traders bought up shares. But the price faded late in the session and has bounced along at lower levels ever since, ending Thursday down $4.26 at $61.96. Its market valuation, just over $8 billion, is still stunning for a social media fledgling with an unproven business model that has struggled to attract users and advertisers, burned through cash and wracked up losses."All of this has come as many of the founding figures at Trump's company are in active civil war, with a flurry of lawsuits surrounding the merger that made it all possible.ALSO READ: A neuroscientist reveals how Trump and Biden's cognitive impairments are different"Thursday’s slide into the red could be just the beginning, market observers say," the report continued, with University of Florida professor Jay Ritter expecting the stock could slide all the way to $2 a share. “The stock will continue to be very volatile, with sharp moves up and down. But the long-term trend will be down,” he continued. “The company has about $2 in cash per share, but it will probably burn through that money and the most likely outcome is eventual bankruptcy.”"Trump Media’s trading has mimicked meme stocks like GameStop and AMC Entertainment, which rose to improbable heights in 2021 after individual investors organized on social media platform Reddit to drive up the stock price. Those investors aimed to strike back against hedge funds that had bet against the company and shorted the stock," the report noted. "What’s tricky is predicting when a meme stock will collapse, said Derek Horstmeyer, a finance professor at George Mason University in Virginia, who specializes in corporate finance. The only hard-and-fast rule? 'Eventually, it does,' Horstmeyer said."Some commentators speculated that even if it does collapse, the short-term value created as much as $4 billion in wealth for the former president. However, others have noted it's not so simple for him to use that wealth to dig his way out of his expensive legal judgments and other serious problems.

Trump's Bible plan comes under new scrutiny as intended purpose for proceeds is murky
Mar 29, 2024
Former President Donald Trump is now promoting a $60 large-print edition of the Bible that includes America's founding documents and the lyrics to Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" — a move that has drawn outrage from some Christians who find both the extra content added to the Bible and the attempt to monetize people's religious beliefs a form of sacrilege. But there's one question that still needs answering, CNN reported on Thursday: where exactly is the money from all this going?"In addition to the multitude of theological questions it raises, Trump’s endorsement of the 'God Bless the USA' Bible coincides with several legal battles that could put the presumptive Republican nominee for president on the line for hundreds of millions of dollars," reported A.J. Willingham. "The FAQ section of the 'God Bless America' Bible website clarifies that no proceeds from the sales of the Bible will go towards Trump’s presidential campaign. However, there is no mention of whether any proceeds could be put toward his personal legal troubles."ALSO READ: A neuroscientist reveals how Trump and Biden's cognitive impairments are different"'No, GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign. GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates,' the site reads," continued the report. "However, it goes on to say Trump’s name, likeness and image are under 'paid license from CIC Ventures LLC.' CIC Ventures is directly linked to Trump in his 2023 public financial disclosures."EliteSource Pro, the company marketing the God Bless the USA Bible, has not yet returned comment on the matter as of press time.Trump is currently on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars from various legal judgments, including the E. Jean Carroll defamation case and the New York civil fraud case — both of which he is appealing but has been required to post bond in. This comes at a time when his political fundraising is severely lagging behind that of President Joe Biden.

'Trump tax': MSNBC host Chris Hayes shows how Trump winning would increase costs
Mar 28, 2024
How much would former President Donald Trump's proposed 10 percent tariff plan actually cost the average American household? The wave of tariffs Trump enacted when he was last president caused chaos, but there are many complexities that muddy this somewhat. However, MSNBC's Chris Hayes took an educated and simple guess at just how badly the country would be hit in the pocketbook under Trump's second-term plans."We don't know exactly how much everything would cost," said Hayes, but "just add 10 percent on the back of the napkin. Here's the cost of living under the Trump Tax."ALSO READ: ‘Don't have enough’: Wealthy Trump allies balk at helping Donald pay legal bills"Start with groceries," he said. "A dozen eggs cost about $3. Once you apply the Trump Tax, that is up to $3.30, with the U.S. importing over 4 million eggs a year, but cost consumers over $1.2 million. If you like oranges, they currently go for about $1.53 per pound. With the Trump Tax, that would be $1.68 per pound, which would cost American consumers almost $71 million for the nearly half a billion pounds of the import. Bananas. We don't really grow them in the U.S., do we? They average about $.63 per pound and going up to $.69 per pound with the Trump Tax, thanks to the U.S. importing more than 10 million pounds per year, that could cost Americans at $609 million and that's a $609 million tax on American consumers. Then there's tomatoes. They go for about $2.13 per pound. Apply the 10 percent Trump Tax. They would be $2.34 per pound, potentially costing Americans $3.5 million thanks to the 6.8 million pounds we import per year. If you are spending $1,200 on groceries, add another $120 to the bill. That's more than the peak of inflation in 2022, which topped off at 9 percent. This is 10 percent."Groceries are just the start, he continued."How about the refrigerator?" said Hayes. "You need to keep the groceries fresh. The average cost of a new fridge is about $1,300. With the Trump Tax, that could go up to $1,430, costing Americans $1.95 billion for the 15 million refrigerators that we import. Again, $1.95 billion of new taxes. What about the car that you need to drive to the grocery store? On average, a new car costs about $48,808 today. With Trump Tax, it costs $53,684, with Americans potentially taking a $66.3 billion hit across the board on the 13 million cars we import. That's not including the 50 percent tariff which would make it another $25,000. Even the smartphone in your pocket cost on average about $940 right now. With Trump Tax, it can go up to $1,034, with Americans potentially paying an extra $13.2 billion for the nearly 141 million smartphones that we import per year.""Everyone hates when you have to pay more for things," he added. "Inflation is one of the biggest liabilities for a sitting president. Yet here is Donald Trump, in the Year of our Lord 2024, running against President Biden, promising to make things more expensive for every American."Watch the video below or click here. Trump-endorsed candidate says Beyoncé is teaching women 'how to be hyper-sexual'
Mar 28, 2024
North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson had yet another group of extremist comments unveiled — this time about legendary singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.According to The Root, "During a series of rants spanning multiple years, Robinson —who is Black —insulted Beyoncé’s singing abilities, called her a 'skank,' and said she was teaching 'young women how to be hyper-sexual w----s.'"For example, in 2017, Robinson posted to Facebook, “Person; Beyoncé is a role model!” Me; “The only person that butt shakin’, devil worshipping, skank is a role model to is people who want a fast track to Hell.” This is on top of previous reporting that he referred to her music as sounding like "Satanic chants."ALSO READ: ‘Don't have enough’: Wealthy Trump allies balk at helping Donald pay legal billsThese revelations come at a moment when Beyoncé herself has found herself at the center of some national controversy, having written a country music inspired album known as Cowboy Carter, and some country radio stations refusing to play singles off of it because of her race.Robinson, who is challenging Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein for the governorship of North Carolina, has been put under the spotlight for a number of bizarre and offensive comments throughout the years.Among other things, he has referred to school shooting survivors as "prosti-tots," pushed QAnon and "lizard people" conspiracy theories, questioned the Holocaust, and suggested American politics was better in the era when women couldn't vote.

'Some prosecutor should be looking into' Trump's latest legal defense scam: expert
Mar 28, 2024
Former President Donald Trump's sprawling network of ostensibly independent political groups raising money for him, much of it in service of paying legal expenses, seems to walk right up to the line of breaking the law, former prosecutor Kristy Greenberg told MSNBC's Alex Wagner — and may in fact cross it."Kristy, how is this legal?" asked Wagner. "How can he keep saying this one thing and doing another?""Well, I think the big question here will be looking behind all of this as to who is coordinating it," said Greenberg. "If Donald Trump is coordinating between his campaign and these PACs that are supposed to be third parties and independent — the Save America PAC is independent, even though he directs it, independent third-party — if there is sufficient coordination, you could prove that, then maybe you would have something to say these expenditures are not purely personal, these are really campaign contributions. And therefore they should be subject to the limits of $5,000 that campaign contributions are subject to."ALSO READ: ‘Don't have enough’: Wealthy Trump allies balk at helping Donald pay legal billsWhat it looks like, Greenberg went on, is that Trump and his allies are "just trying to do an end-run around these various regulations, and it seems so transparent.""[Special counsel] Jack Smith ... had served some subpoenas in connection with that nonexistent, as it turns out, election defense fund," Greenberg said. "He served some subpoenas and then he withdrew them and it was unclear why, because that seemed like such a clear-cut fraud. I questioned why that happened. Perhaps it was optics. Perhaps he thought like he had such strong cases, the January 6 case and the national security case, that he didn't want to seem as though he was trying to drain Trump of the ability to legally defend against those cases. Hard to say. But I questioned it at that time because that seemed like such a clear wire fraud case that it seemed like it should be looked into, but maybe they just had limited resources and didn't like the optics of it.""But I agree with you, this raises a lot of questions," she added. "Someone, somewhere, even if not the special counsel's office, because they are pretty busy — some prosecutors should be looking into this."Watch the video below or at the link. Conservative highlights 'useful political issue for Democrats' that 'undermines' Trump
Mar 28, 2024
There's something rotten in MAGA country: some supporters are being scammed into donating funds beyond a one-time offering to bankroll former President Donald Trump's legal efforts. Tim Miller, the former communications director for the Jeb Bush's 2016 campaign, appeared on MSNBC's "Alex Wagner Tonight" to suggest that some of these fervent backers of MAGA being suckered could help Democrats make their case in the upcoming election. "They are making one donation and actually they are having a monthly withdrawal taken from their accounts," he said. "This has been happening over and over again so you know there are plenty of these supporters that are getting scammed and I think that this is potentially a useful political issue for Democrats, frankly, because it undermines a core message of Donald Trump that he cares about these people."ALSO READ: ‘Don't have enough’: Wealthy Trump allies balk at helping Donald pay legal billsMiller appears to be touching on a 2021 story in The New York Times exposing a so-called "money bomb" to squeeze out more money from an unsuspecting loyalists' contributionsThe story suggested those taken sometimes for "thousands of dollars" in the maneuver were "retirees, military veterans, nurses and even experienced political operatives." Ever since fleeing the White House for Mar-a-Lago in 2021 after suffering a defeat by President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump has burned through $100 million on lawyers and residual costs dealing with his many investigations, indictments and both civil and criminal trials, according to The Times. It's estimated the 45th president is spending on average more than $90,000 a day in legal-related costs out of other peoples' money and has been doing it for three years running. The Times found that Trump "has relied almost entirely on donations made in an attempt to fight the results of the 2020 election."Miller noted that these supporters may be fine with backing his legal defense efforts, keep his jet fueled, or float his "fancy dinners at Mar-a-Lago." He said, "they don't care because it's their way to give the middle finger to the people they don't like."But there are others who are sore about it. These "other people" Miller contends that are "donating really believed that that money was going to an election defense fund, that there was fraud in the election, that literally believe that the country is under threat; it's under some invasion and the little $10 donation they give is part of the effort to stop that vision and to support candidates that are going to put in policies that they care about."He suggested this pool often are elderly with less internet savviness "who are literally getting conned."Watch below or click here.

'Never before seen': Ex-Giuliani associate posts video 'Republicans don't want you to see'
Mar 28, 2024
Lev Parnas is rolling out more receipts proving his narrative that Trump's former attorney and ex New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was trumpeting foul play committed by President Joe Biden and his family despite knowing fully well he didn't have the goods.Filming himself seated at a table with Giuliani and another gentleman, Parnas can be seen holding a cell phone up reportedly with Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin speaking.Giuliani tells him, "I guess what I'm getting at is — I understand that. I understand why that's wrong; is there any specific act that any of these people performed? Did they get a kickback? Did they get a bribe?"ALSO READ: ‘Don't have enough’: Wealthy Trump allies balk at helping Donald pay legal billsShokin unflinchingly answers back: "No."Parnas, a convicted criminal and who was also a former associate of Rudy Giuliani, released the video days after he made headlines while testifying before the House of Representatives to say that Giuliani knowingly spread misinformation from Russia about Biden.Recently, Parnas, who is appearing to come clean with his actions in the past, said that he told the FBI in 2019 that the GOP's anti-Joe Biden informant should not to be trusted.Keeping with the theme of showing what he claims to know, Parnas released the "never before seen" clip by calling it, "THE VIDEO THE REPUBLICANS DON'T [sic] WANT YOU TO SEE."The video relates to the origins of Giuliani going out to suggest Biden's son Hunter Biden was mixed up in questionable money scheme with a Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where he served on the board. He went on to solicit story pitches lifted from Hunter Biden's laptop to news outlets. A year prior, Giuliani had badmouthed reportedly Kremlin-aligned prosecutor, Shokin, whom the Ukrainian Parliament supposedly sacked for failing to clamp down on corruption.Watch below or click the link here.
