Sharon Osbourne has hit out at Kanye West, after the
Rapper shared a post on
Twitter about his wife Kim Kardashian’s billionaire status.
Speaking on US panel series The Talk earlier this week, Sharon admitted she “cringed” when she read Kanye’s post, particularly as it came at a time when many around the world are struggling financially due to the
Coronavirus pandemic.
Kanye’s tweet was accompanied – for some reason – by a photo of a green pepper, a flower and what looked like a cherry tomato, and read: “I am so proud of my beautiful wife
Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire. You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family.
“So blessed this is still life, so I made you this still life. We love you so much.” I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family So blessed this is still life So I made you this still lifeWe love you so much pic.twitter.com/Vvtgzodnah— ye (@kanyewest) June 30, 2020Asked for her thoughts on the subject, Sharon said: “It isn’t the right time to show off your wealth but, hey, some people, that is what they do.
“I have never been keen on that anyway, whether there is a pandemic or not. I never believe in that. For me I cringe when people do it.”In April, Forbes magazine reported that Kanye had reached billionaire status himself, describing his Yeezy trainers line as “one of the great retail stories of the century”.
However, Kanye was unhappy with Forbes and claimed they had undervalued him, reportedly texting them: “It’s not a billion. It’s 3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”Over the weekend, Kanye made headlines once again when he reiterated his plans to run for US president, a claim he first made back in 2015, after receiving the Video Vanguard award at the
MTV VMAs.“We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” he wrote, before adding: “I am running for president of the
United States.”READ MORE:
