
A father and his 10-year-old daughter have been killed in a house
fire in Hull,
police have confirmed.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene of the incident in Wensley Avenue at 7.50am on Saturday morning to reports of a fire in a house.
Humberside Police have since confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the girl was rushed to hospital where she later died. A spokesman for the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said: “We pulled out an adult male, and what we now know is his 10-year-old daughter, and tragically both lives were lost to the fire,” he said.
“We’re working with police colleagues on the scene. We have got fire investigation officers there who will be working tirelessly throughout today.”
He added the father and daughter were the only two people in the property at the time of the blaze.
