While we’ve only just recovered our wig after the inaugural
UK series, the RuPaul’s Drag Race train continues full-steam ahead with the ru-veal of the new US queens.

The 13 new contestants taking part in the upcoming 12th series of the original show have now been announced – and some may look a little familiar to drag connoisseurs.
Among the new queens are Dahlia Sin, who is the drag daughter of former contestant Aja. Fans will remember her from season nine, where she placed ninth, as well as the third All Stars series. Brita and Jan are also two members of singing drag troupe Stephanie’s Child, who have worked with former Drag Race legends Sasha Velour, Shangela and Jiggly Caliente in an episode of US sitcom Broad City, while Brita has also appeared on Saturday Night Live.

Never one to hype things up, Ru has called the latest bunch of queens “the most talented we’ve ever had”.
“Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
Fellow judge Ross Mathews has also said it is his “favourite season yet”.
He told Digital Spy: “I am just blown away by what the producers are doing to keep it fresh.
“I just think it is chock-full of talent. I can think of all the girls and there is not one who I couldn’t see winning.”
