José Mourinho has made it clear that he expects bad news on Harry Kane’s hamstring injury lay-off, saying he is “totally convinced” he is going to be without him for “some period”.
Kane limped off during Tottenham’s 1-0 New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton and, although the forward has always returned quickly after injury setbacks, Mourinho has started to plan for a number of weeks without a player he described as “irreplaceable”. As yet, there is no precise timescale for Kane’s absence.
