Afghanistan Football Federation and current Asian Football Confederation executive committee member Sayed Ali Reza Aghazada has been banned from all football-related activity for five years by Fifa for failing to “report and prevent” sexual abuse suffered by members of the Afghanistan women’s national team.
Fifa concluded that Aghazada knew of abuse perpetrated by the AFF’s then president Keramuudin Karim, who was banned for life from all football-related activity in June. Aghazada was also fined 10,000 Swiss francs (£7,900).
