Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have recalled the time they found themselves “lost in the Portugese woodlands” after a drunken night out.
Phillip Schofield Recalls Getting Drunkenly Lost In Portuguese Woodlands After Night Out With Holly
The daytime pair are currently celebrating 10 years since Holly joined Phillip as his official co-host on This Morning.
In honour of the occasion, they sat down to talk about some of their favourite memories both on and off-screen, with Phillip sharing one story from their joint summer holiday last year.“Oh my goodness me,” he began. “Well last summer, we were at a restaurant and Holly said ‘This is quite close to our house so we will walk back and there’s a beautiful sort of natural park land, with fields and paths.’ And she got us lost.
“It was pitch black and we were using our phones as torches. We were a little worse for wear and we were essentially lost in the Portugese woodlands for quite some time, all of us.”
He continued: “It was absolutely hilarious and so this year, we did the same walk but in the daytime, and we went back to Holly’s after lunch and she said ‘Don’t worry, I know the way now, I’m not going to get us lost.’
“The only thing that got lost then was [Holly’s husband] Dan’s sunglasses, he looked over a river and his sunglasses fell in!”
Holly continued: “Holidays are really nice because you’re both really relaxed and it’s different because all of our families are together. Everyone really likes spending time with [Phillip] as well because they know Mummy goes to work with him so it’s nice for them. You know, they’ve grown up seeing him loads.” View this post on InstagramA post shared by Holly Willoughby (@hollywilloughby) on Aug 2, 2019 at 4:01am PDTWhen asked for his favourite on-screen memory with Holly, Phillip chose the morning after the NTAs in 2016, when the pair arrived in the studio still in their outfit from the night before, after celebrating This Morning’s win until the wee small hours.
“There’s nothing that we’ve done since and nothing in my entire career prior to that where either of us have been in that state live on TV,” Phillip admitted.
“It was the fact that Holly was still wearing the same dress, it was the fact that she got piccalilli stains all down it. Holly looks constantly beautiful, so when she’s looking dishevelled, in a beautiful frock and covered in piccalilli then that was probably one of my most favourite moments.”Looking to the future, Phillip said: “I’d be quite happy [to keep going for another 10 years], so long as I’m in good health and Holly is too. It’s an evolving show, you never know what direction it’s going to take, you know none of us know what direction life is going to take.”
Holly added: “I hope [This Morning] continues to grow, I feel that’s a real strength of the show. It’s always adapting and changing, so I think as long as it continues to do that and know when it’s serious and know when its not taking itself too seriously, there’s no reason why it can’t be around for another ten years, or another twenty.”
This Morning airs every weekday from 10.30am on ITV.MORE THIS MORNING... We Defy You Not To Laugh At Holly And Phillip Losing It At These Kids' Drawings ITV Plots Daytime Shake Up In Bid To Replace The Jeremy Kyle Show This Morning Reaches Peak This Morning As Woman Marries Her Dog In Live Ceremony

Rudy Giuliani screams at Piers Morgan in insane TV interview: 'What happened to you, Rudy?'
Jun 04, 2020
Rudy Giuliani just made an appearance on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan, and to say it went off the rails would be an understatement. President Trump's personal lawyer participated in what turned out to be a completely bonkers interview on the show on Thursday, which started somewhat normally only to get heated as Morgan grilled Giuliani on Trump tweeting that "when the looting starts, the shooting starts." Giuliani claimed Trump didn't quote a "nutty, horrible racist" on "purpose," but Morgan wasn't buying it, repeatedly calling Giuliani out and asking him why Trump is using "inflammatory language" on Twitter. After many minutes going back and forth on this, the interview finally went fully out of control as Giuliani screamed over Morgan's news coverage and the two traded insults, with Giuliani blasting Morgan as a "liar" and a "failed journalist" after Morgan asked him, "What happened to you, Rudy?" Morgan proceeded to label Giuliani "deranged," "unhinged," and "completely barking mad." As if the whole thing wasn't chaotic enough, they then spent the end of the interview litigating whether Giuliani dropped an F-bomb during the conversation; Giuliani claimed he didn't say live on the air that Morgan "f--ed up," but considering a bleep was added to the Twitter clip posted by Good Morning Britain, the network obviously wasn't convinced. Watch just a small piece of the wild journey below, with more on YouTube.
