Fans around the world were shocked and heartbroken by the news that
Disney star
Cameron Boyce died at the age of 20 on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Cameron's family confirmed the news to ABC News, saying, "The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him."
The beloved actor was best known for his roles in the Disney show Jessie and the Descendants film franchise.
He was also known for playing Keithie Feder, the son of
Adam Sandler's character, in Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2.
Shortly after his death was announced, Adam took to Twitter and shared his heartbreaking reaction to the news.
"Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid," he wrote.
Adam went on to express his grief and shared that "all our hearts are broken," in the wake of Cameron's untimely death.
Cameron's Jessie co-star,
Skai Jackson, also released a statement on Sunday, writing, "I am at a loss for words. I never thought in a million years I would be writing this. Cam, you were one of a kind. My heart will be forever broken."
"Thank you so much for being the big brother I never had... I am so distraught and I cannot stop crying! I love you so much... fly high," she concluded.
