As the
Justice Department follows his order to investigate the origins of the
Russia probe, President
Donald Trump began laying the groundwork to jail his perceived enemies.
Attorney General
William Barr has asked U.S. Attorneys to examine how the counterintelligence and FBI investigations began and has refused to turn over the unredacted report from special counsel
Robert Mueller, who has a recording of a person “connected to” Congress attempting to influence Michael Flynn’s testimony.
U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered the government Thursday to provide a public transcript of a November 2017 voice mail message from Trump’s attorney reminding the former national security adviser of the president’s fondness for him, when Flynn was considering cooperation with Mueller’s team.
The president reacted by citing a Fox News poll showing “58 percent of people say that the FBI broke the law” by investigating him, and calling for investigators to be jailed for “treason.”
