Katie Piper admitted she feels “very lucky” after it was revealed she will be partnered up with
Gorka Marquez in last night’s launch show.
The 34-year-old couldn’t contain her excitement after the Strictly Come Dancing launch episode aired, revealing who the celebrities were partnered with.
Katie took to her Instagram to share how she feels about being paired up with the Spanish hunk.
The mother-of-two admitted it will be a “fabulous journey” sharing the experience with Gorka, 28.
Sharing a picture of the two of them in a ballroom frame position, Katie divulged: “The secret is out!!!!!!
“I feel so very lucky to have the talented @gorka_marquez as my partner.
“It’s going to be a journey but something tells me it will be a fabulous journey.”
Katie watched the launch show at her Strictly Come Dancing co-star Joe Sugg’s house, along with many of her fellow celebrities and professionals.
The blonde beauty shared an image of her colleagues and Joe’s pals sitting around watching the TV.
She captioned it: “P A R T Y @joe_sugg birthday celebrations and @bbcstrictly day 1!!!
“Partying with the pros tonight @diannebuswell @mr_njonesofficial @aj11ace and my fellow contestants @katesilverton and Graham.”
The group also celebrated the YouTube sensation’s 27th birthday on the night.
Katie uploaded a snap of the vlogger alongside his showstopping birthday cake and wrote: “Is this not the cake of dreams???
“It’s official we have been strictlyfied and @joe_sugg has aged another year. Let’s bring on the dancing.”
At the party, Katie was joined day her husband Richard James Sutton and she thanked him for his continued support.
Accompanying a picture of the two of them posing together, she wrote: “As my @bbcstrictly journey starts tonight I’ve got to thank this wonderful man for always having my back and supporting every project I take on.”
Speaking during the launch show, Katie revealed she had received a message of support from the surgeon who treated her after her acid attack.
Katie was left badly scarred when she was doused with sulphuric acid in March 2008.
Her attacker Stefan Sylvestre, who was acting on the orders of her ex-boyfriend, was handed a life sentence in 2009.
Speaking about the life-changing event on the show, Katie said: “I was quite badly burnt when I was younger. I had acid thrown in my face and I had a very long recovery.
“I got the loveliest text from my burn surgeon saying: ‘Wow my patient who was once learning to walk again is now dancing’.
“It was a place I never thought I’d be. I’m gonna give it my all.”
