Russian diplomats in the UK have been told they have just seven days to leave the country following a fiery statement from Theresa May as she turns up the heat on Vladimir Putin.

Theresa May confirmed the expulsion of 23 high-level diplomat during an address to the House of Commons.
She announced her decision in the wake of last week’s "barbaric" nerve agent attack on former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia.
Mrs May said: “Under the Vienna Convention, the United Kingdom will now expel 23 Russian diplomats who have been identified as undeclared intelligence officers."They have just one week to leave."
The PM said it marked the "single biggest expulsion in 30 years" after the diplomats were identified as undeclared intelligence officials.
In response, a Russian politician said he could not rule out expelling 23 - or more - British diplomats from Russia.
And Russian embassy in Britainsaid: “We consider this hostile action as totally unacceptable, unjustified and shortsighted.
“All the responsibility for the deterioration of the Russia-UK relationship lies with the current political leadership of Britain.”

As well as this, diplomatic relations between the two states will be cut back with invitations for foreign visits withdrawn.
Mrs May said Russia has reponded with "contempt and defiance" to the spiralling crisis and demonstrated "complete disdain" for th gravity of the situation.
As well as this, no government officials or members of the Royal Family will attend this summer's FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Mrs May said it was clear Russia was at worst directly responsible or at worst criminally negligent for its role in the attack.
She said: "The UK government concluded it was highly likely Russia was responsible for this attack.
"Either this was a direct attack by the Russian state against our country or conceivably the country could have lost control of the military grade nerve agent.
"This was not just an act of attempted murder in Salisbury - nor just an act against UK.
"It is an affront to the prohibition on the use of chemical weapons. And it is an affront to the rules-based system on which we and our international partners depend."

Mr Corbyn was barracked by Conservative MPs when he asked the Prime Minister how she had responded to requests from the Russian government for a sample of the nerve agent used in the attack so it could run its own tests.
The Labour leader also pressed the PM on what conversations she had had with Moscow about the incident.
He added: "While suspending planned high-level contact, does the Prime Minister agree that it is essential to maintain a robust dialogue with Russia?"

In response a Russian politician did not rule out expelling 23 - or more - British diplomats from Russia.
Vladimir Dzhabarov, deputy chairman of the international affairs committee of Russia's upper house of parliament, was cited by RIA news agency as refusing to rule out a counter-expulsion.
The Foreign Office has called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council to update members on the investigation.
Russia, also a member of the Security Council, has denied any involvement in the attack.
The Foreign Office said: "The UK has called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to update Council members on the investigation into the nerve agent attack in Salisbury."

And the Russian ambassador to the UK has also now been called to the Foreign Office.
Alexander Yakovenko told Sky News the UK's response to the Salisbury incident is "unacceptable" and a "provocation".
And Nato said the UK had briefed its North Atlantic Council today about the Skripal attack.
A statement said: "Allies expressed deep concern at the first offensive use of a nerve agent on Alliance territory since NATO's foundation.
"Allies expressed solidarity with the UK, offered their support in the conduct of the ongoing investigation, and called on Russiato address the UK's questions including providing full and complete disclosure of the Novichok programme to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
"Allies agreed that the attack was a clear breach of international norms and agreements.
"Nato regards any use of chemical weapons as a threat to international peace and security.”
