A pedestrian was killed in a serious crash on the M42 southbound on Easter Sunday, March 31. The major motorway was closed for several hours between J10, for Tamworth , and J9 following the tragedy which happened at around 11.30pm. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed to CoventryLive that the man could not be saved. His death comes after Warwickshire
police said a man was seen walking down the side of the motorway. The force has launched an appeal for witnesses - particularly anyone with dash-cam footage who was travelling in the area at the time. Upon arrival we found a male patient who was a pedestrian. "Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene. No further patients required treatment." A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a serious road traffic collision on the M42 southbound between J9 and J10. "We're looking to determine the events leading up to the collision. If you were travelling down the M42 around this time, particularly if you have dashcam footage, saw a man walking down the side of the motorway, or witnessed anything else that could help with our investigation, please contact us citing incident 382 of 31 March 2024."
