I'd buy it alone for the scent (and I'm not usually a fragrance in skin care person, but it's earthy and woody and frankly the best-smelling thing I've put on my face in years) but the real secret behind its magic is in the formula; it's pumped with encapsulated ginseng, long known for its anti-inflammatory properties, plus retinol and niacinamide, two antiaging powerhouses. Technically it would work well under any moisturizer, but I personally top it off with the brand's ($260) — sorry, I know that makes it two parking spots worth — which is just as decadent. But that doesn't make them easier to get rid of. Fortunately, this eye cream from Alpyn is working really, really hard to make it look like I got eight hours. It's packed with botanicals like niacinamide and chamomile to brighten and calm the skin, and it has a pretty pink tint that works on all skin tones to neutralize dark circles. Instead, my skin looks glowy and bright every day of the week." — DD ($20) "I love the look of a slicked-back bun, but I rarely do one because I hate gunking my hair up with heavy product. When the team at Nexxus told me its new Slick Stick was far more lightweight than competitors on the market, I was skeptical at first. However, after a single pass over my hair with this wax, I knew they were telling the truth. This push-up stick smooths flyaway and creates a shiny finish without turning your hair into a helmet or feeling like it's pulling out your hair in the process." — JH ($46) "This isn't a fun fact I'd bring to a party or anything, but it is true that for the last decade, I have not blow-dried my hair once without first applying a heat protectant. I've seen firsthand just how much it can protect your ends from damage, and even still, I've always struggled to find the perfect formula (read: a spray instead of cream for easy application, but that doesn't leave either a gritty or oily residue). Alas, Oribe is changing all that with its Gold Lust Dry Heat Protective Spray. Not only does the super-fine mist allow you to cover more surface area quickly and efficiently, but it also makes your hair look shiny, not greasy." — KC "As someone who writes about beauty all damn day, I know it's important to put on a heat protectant every time I use hot tools. Do I actually do it? Nope, I don't. Mostly because I only wash my hair once or twice a week, and most heat protectants are wet, and I'm not interested in ruining my blowout. That's why I've been obsessing over the Oribe Gold Lust Dry Heat Protective Spray. I can spritz it on even when my hair is dry. I love the scent, and it even gives my hair a volume boost." — RR ($51) "I have very fine hair, so that means I'm always looking for products that will help add volume and thickness, but I'm also wary of heavy formulas that will weigh my hair down. It's a clear spray that provides a soft, touseled look without any unpleasant grit or stiffness. In fact, this leave-in spray is your ticket to ; it's packed with amino and fatty acids that effectively hydrate without weighing anything down (a must for my sad, fine hair) and leaves behind the kind of shine you see on red carpets but have no idea how to get at home." — KC ($30) "I recently had my hair styled by celebrity stylist Mark Townsend, and he used the Dr. Groot Scalp Revitalizing Solution on my hair during our appointment. It has the same results as a conditioner, but somehow better. My hair felt smooth, looked bouncy, and my scalp didn't have any itchy flakiness. It's made with ingredients you'd find in skin-care products, like niacinamide and salicylic acid, which makes sense — since our scalps skin." — RR ($12) "I have no shame in my love for Head & Shoulders. (Trust me, my dandruff is low on the totem pole of things I could be embarrassed about.) That said, even the OGs in flake control could use a little zhuzh, which is exactly what the brand did with its new Bare shampoo. It's got all the good stuff you want — dandruff-fighting zinc pyrithione, sulfate-free surfactants, coconut water to hydrate — but is housed in a bottle made with nearly half the amount of plastic as the original. Plus, it's fully recyclable (even the cap, which is a rarity for beauty products). I'm calling it a scalp treatment with a conscious." — KC ($39) "I have dry hair, and it only gets worse when the weather gets hotter. I spend hours in the sun (with SPF on, of course) and in the ocean, and it truly fries my hair. I've been using the Aavrani Deep Conditioning Hair Mask for the last month, and it's made a huge difference in how my hair looks and feels. Plus, it's color safe, and it's made with biotin." — RR $38 "If you want the perfect slicked-back pony or bun, you need to buy the Emijay Angelstick. It glides over my hair without catching or causing tangles, and it's fragrance free, which is great, because the last hair stick I used had a super funky smell. This one is made with vegan ingredients, and I swear my hair feels better after each time I use it. Oh, and did I mention
Queen Sofia Richie uses it?" — RR ($89) "I'm obsessed with every one of the 12 shades in the D&G Eye Dare You! Palette. They range from highly pigmented metallic foil (hot tip: use a wet eyeliner brush to create a liner with wild color payoff) to matte base shades. Whether you're looking for something colorful and bold or a look that's a bit more neutral, you can do it all with this one. Plus, the cute decorative packaging will stand out in your makeup cabinet." — AK ($36) "There's nothing I love more than testing a new mascara. When the Lisa Eldridge Kitten Lash Mascara hit my desk, I knew just by looking at the brush that I was going to like it. I'm picky when it comes to my mascara wands, and this one has tightly packed bristles in a curved shape that makes it easy to grab every single lash. The formula has a feathery finish that makes my lashes look voluminous and full." — JH ($28) "As someone who doesn't wear foundation, my concealer is very important to me and I'm picky. The Saie Slip Tint Radiant All-Over Concealer checks all of the boxes for me — it's lightweight, provides light to medium coverage, blends really easily, feels hydrating, and has a glowy finish. (This doesn't really surprise me, given that Saie's beauty philosophy and mine align pretty well.) This concealer will make your skin look smooth and even, all the while making you forget you're wearing it at all." — JH "I make it a point to try every new concealer I can get my hands on, and I believe that it's helpful to have a concealer "wardrobe" — one for dark circles, one for hyperpigmentation, one for eyelid redness, etc. But now that I have this new concealer from Saie, my other concealers all seem obsolete. It's hydrating yet doesn't crease and offers just the right amount of buildable coverage. It even makes pores seem to disappear but doesn't have the slippery silicone feeling of other pore-minimizing products. Plus, there's never any fallout when I wear them, and my eye makeup always lasts until it's time to wash it off at night." — RR ($34) "The new Ciele Sculpt & Protect Contour Stick is my new all-time favorite way to add a subtle contour to my cheekbones. In a master class I just attended with Ciele cofounder and celebrity MUA Nikki DeRoest, she explained how she applies the bronzer on each part of the face. Cheeks: Use the brand's Complexion Brush to push the line of your bronzer in a stippling motion slightly up toward your temple. Jawline and forehead: Swipe the bronzer across the skin rather than push. She also recommended adding a swipe to the top of the eyes along the brow bone for an easy put-together look." — AK ($34) "The Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks are my favorite thing to use in a pinch when I want a fun eye makeup look but am short on time (or traveling). Recently, the brand released an eyeliner version of the same sticks that come in five neutral colors: deep purple, gray, black, deep taupe, and dark brown. I'm already envisioning all of the smoky eye makeup looks I'll be able to create with these." — JH ($35) "Ok, I never realized how much I needed a blush/brush combo until trying the Violette_FR Bisou Blush. Oh, what an innovation! The new shade, Melanie, is a dimensional coral — a super-springy blend of peach, apricot, and sheer pink. It's on the matte side, so I like to layer a more dewy highlighter on top of it for a look that gives the perfect summer flush." — AK ($50) "I'm not a huge lipstick person, but when I do wear it, I want it to be slightly matte — without sinking into my lip creases. Basically, it needs to stay super smooth and lightweight. The Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick ($50) hits the nail on the head. I'm in love with the shade Piqué, which is a perfect '90s pink-taupe. These lippies come in the Westman Atelier sturdy (and chic) packaging; these tubes have already rolled off my vanity multiple times without any stick breakage." — AK ($18) Celebrity makeup artist Etienne Ortega recently launched his eponymous makeup brand, and I'm already obsessed with all of the products. While the lip liners are some of the most creamy I've ever tested, what really stopped me in my tracks was the Liquid Icon Hyper Gloss. Not only did it leave my lips looking shinier than ever, but they were hydrated as well. It definitely landed a permanent spot in my purse because I constantly find myself reaching for it whenever I want an ultra-glossy look. — RR ($10) "I've gotten really good at applying body lotion every day, right after the shower, but I have to admit: I still dread the activity sometimes. But having a nice body lotion helps. Right now, I'm loving the Billie Bounce Body Lotion. I love the formula — it's deeply hydrating with hyaluronic acid and peptides and it rubs in easily — but I'm also so thankful that it comes in a pump bottle; it makes it so much easier to apply. The warm vanilla and cedar scent is also very comforting without being overpowering." — JH ($7) "If you're looking for an Aesop alternative — because, let's be real, it's hard to justify spending $43 on hand soap — allow me to introduce you to Osāna Naturals. The brand has a similarly chic aesthetic that I immediately want in every bathroom without skimping on quality, only at a fraction of the cost. It's sweet without being cloying or juvenile, which is the perfect combo for a summer signature fragrance." — AK ($56) "As a huge fan of Kacey Musgraves's first collaboration with Boy Smells, I had a feeling I was going to be equally into the second. The Deeper Well Candle is described as an earthy gourmand, which isn't a scent family I would typically go for, but it's executed perfectly. This candle has notes of oakmoss, raspberry, and sage, transporting you to the woods for an early morning walk." — JH "Kacey Musgraves has cemented herself as the candle queen with her new candle-meets-album collab. The Boy Smells x Kacey Musgraves Deeper Well Candle really does capture the essence of her new album of the same name. It's a sumptuous combo of oakmoss, raspberry, and sage — it's earthy but also super juicy. The only way I can think to describe it is soft and flowy and cozy." — AK ($24) "Each time I've had
Friends over while burning the P.F. Candle Co. Enoki Cedar Candle, I've been inundated with, 'What is that?' or, 'This house smells so sexy.' And even the occasional attempted candle kidnapping. Maybe that's the effect of the Phytogaia, a technology that translates the benefits of phytoncides – molecules emitted by forest trees shown to positively affect mood and wellbeing – into fragrance. Maybe it's the power of sandalwood. Either way, it's a ridiculously good smelling candle." — AK ($88) "I'm such a sucker for a good-smelling candle, especially one as chic as the Leland Francis Pomelo Sensual Candle.
