Ireland at a prestigious awards ceremony. Nesbitt's Quality Meats in Glengormley took home the
Northern Ireland Champion award in the butchers category at the Countryside Alliance awards held in Titanic Belfast on March 25. The family-run butchers at the junction of Glencairn Park and the Antrim Road has been owned by Alastair Bonar for the past 30 years, with day-to-day operations run by Alistair, his wife Sharon, and their son Philip. Social Media after the award win, the team behind Nesbitt's said they were "humbled and grateful" by the award win, thanking everyone who took the time to place a vote for them. They were shortlisted for the award after being nominated by a customer. They will now go on to the
UK wide Countryside Alliance heats, as the winners from each region in the UK go on to an awards ceremony at the House of Lords in

We have a good customer base from the wider Glengormley area. "We have a good rapport with our customers, and we've built many nice friendships as you get to know everybody." He added: "It's just trying to get people to support small businesses, and I'm passionate about small local artisan food shops.
