There are returns, goodbyes, and news of whether a 'missing' resident will return to the cobbles all in Coronation Street next week. It starts when David Platt tells Maria Windass that if she doesn’t return to work very soon, Audrey Roberts will look to replace her. Maria confides in her husband Gary that she’ll lose her
Job if she doesn’t return soon and, although they need the money, she doesn’t feel ready to leave her son, Liam. Gary approaches Carla and tells her he’s thinking of selling the factory building and he’d like her to have first refusal but Carla admits there’s no way she can afford it. Maria waits for Gary to go out and then pulls out a box from her bag and opens it. In the salon, Maria and Audrey discuss hairstyle options with a bride-to-be but, at the same time, Maria takes a sneak peek at an app on her phone which allows her to watch Gary and Liam in the flat through a hidden camera. As Maria works on the bride’s hair, she stops to check her camera app and starts to panic when Liam disappears to the bathroom. After checking her phone again to find that Liam still hasn’t emerged from the bathroom, Maria grabs her bag and hurries out. It's not until later, in the salon, that Maria bursts into tears and steels herself to tell Audrey about her anxieties. As Violet and Dylan pursue their menus in the Bistro, Bella, a girl from Dylan’s old class approaches and invites him to join her later for an ice cream in the precinct. Dylan arrives at the precinct and is horrified to discover Mason waiting for him. Is Dylan in trouble? Meanwhile, Steve McDonald reads the letter from Tommy Orpington inviting his ex-wife Tracy Barlow to move to
Spain with him - but hides it. Over lunch in the Bistro, Tracy admits to daughter Amy Barlow that she misses having a man in her life and, soon after Steve returns home and is taken aback to find Tracy there. As he reaches into his pocket for Tommy’s letter, he stops in his tracks when Tracy announces she’d like them to get back together. Tracy assures Steve that Tommy was a stupid mistake and promises she’s back for good. As Steve heads out for a celebratory bottle of wine, a subdued Tracy watches him go. Tracy says her goodbyes (Image: ITV) When Steve reveals that he and Tracy are back together, Dev Alahan is horrified and refuses to serve him. After suggesting that they go to the pub instead, Tracy heads out and Steve burns Tommy’s letter, determined to save his marriage. Will Steve be able to hide this from Tracy? It doesn't sound like it as Tracy calls at No.1 for the last of her things and admits to Amy, Ken Barlow and Daniel Osbourne how much she’s going to miss them. Ken suggests a farewell drink in the Rovers. Ken, Amy and Daniel raise a toast to Tracy and wish her well with her new life in Spain as Steve buries himself in his newspaper and Amy feels for him. Elsewhere, Michael Bailey shows sister Dee-Dee a final demand which came through the post for Ed and Dee-Dee is shocked to realise how much Ed still owes. Ed returns from Birmingham and breaks the news to Michael that Aggie has given him his marching orders and won’t be returning home. In that moment, Michael offers him a comforting hug and quickly slides the final demand letter out of sight. In the Rovers, an intrigued Bethany overhears Jenny Connor tearing a strip off Daisy for spending so much money on her shopping spree and points out that they need to keep a low profile money-wise. Tim soon lets slip that he picked Daisy up from the centre of Manchester and Bethany realises she was lying. Is Bethany coming close to uncovering the truth about Daisy? Later, determined to get on better with Daisy, Bethany tells Daniel Osbourne she's going to call in and see if she needs help preparing for their dinner tonight. In the Rovers, Bethany persuades a reluctant Daisy to let her help with the cooking but, whilst Daisy’s distracted, Bethany turns the oven up on the
Apple pie. Having discovered the apple pie burnt to a crisp, Daisy heads out to buy a replacement leaving Bethany and Ryan to prepare the evening meal. When Jenny calls Ryan through to the bar, Bethany seizes the opportunity to rifle through drawers, stuffs something in her handbag and hurries out. In the builder's yard flat, Bethany takes out Stephen’s journal from her bag and flicks through it, intrigued. Later in the café, Jenny masks her panic as Carla Barlow makes a dig about Bethany’s accusations. In the Rovers, a stressed Jenny tells Daisy they need to find a way to pay the money back to Carla without her finding out but Daisy reckons they should just keep quiet. Jenny ends up confessing to Carla (Image: ITV) With the karaoke night in full flow, Sally Metcalfe admires Daisy’s new designer bag. However, as Jenny berates Daisy for flaunting her wealth, she fails to realise her words can be heard over the microphone. As Ryan Connor steps in to calm the situation, Carla clocks the tension. Carla then finds a visibly upset Jenny in Victoria Garden and when Carla quizzes her about Bethany’s suspicions over Stephen’s money, Jenny crumples and admits that they took it but had every intention of paying it back. Will Carla be able to forgive Jenny?
