MORE than 100 grieving teenagers this afternoon paid tribute to two Moray
Friends who lost their lives in a tragic crash. Marcus Beck (17) and Gregor Booth (16), from Elgin, died on Monday evening when an e-bike they were passengers on was involved in a collision on the A941 between Elgin and Lossiemouth. At 1pm, about 150 of the boys' schoolmates gathered in Bishopmill before walking more than three miles out to the site of the crash. Bishopmill Service Station sold out of flowers as youngsters bought them and headed up to the spot where the incident happened. Hugs were shared, tears were shed and everyone took a moment to reflect and pay tribute to their friends. MORE: Family pay tribute to Marcus Beck
police Sergeant Iain Nicholson described the incident as "traumatic" and urged people paying tribute to the pair to be safe when doing so. Flowers that had originally been placed by the roadside have been moved further away, near to the cycle path. “We understand that this has been an extremely traumatic incident not only to the families and friends of those involved, but also the wider community," he said. “People will rightly want to pay tribute and we respectfully ask anyone visiting the site to please park sensibly and away from the junction for everyone’s safety, or alternatively reach the area via the cycle path.”
