Restaurant At The Woods A woodland-themed restaurant complete with bird cage and tree house, Restaurant At The Woods feels like the forest in the Mailbox! The adults' menu features some lesser-seen ingredients in town, like stinging nettles or quail, but there are small plates, salads and burgers as well as some less adventurous options. The kids menu factures chicken tenders, burgers and nachos and for pudding? Ice cream with Oreo crumble, so it looks like a pretty flower pot! Restaurant At The Woods, Mailbox, Wharfside Street, B1 1RF Mowgli There's Indian street food on offer in Mowgli but the real reason it makes this list? You can eat it all sitting on swings! Food includes Mother butter chicken and rice, gunpowder chicken and fries, house chicken curry, dahl and paneer. Ice cones in a variety of flavours are for pub and there are even 'fancy fizztails' for sophisticated babbies who want to sip something special. Instagram, Medicine is just wicked for bakes and cakes. There's a branch in Selfridges and one up on New Street, as well as at the Mailbox, so plenty to go at. They're doing insane things with Creme Eggs for Easter. 'Chocolate for breakfast' they're promising. Oof. Mailbox, Birmingham New Street and Selfridges, Bullring Franco Manca A reader told me that his daughter had a whale of a time in Franco Manca when kind chefs showed her how pizza is pulled and gave her a little ball of dough to squidge! There's no guarantee of such service that we can see, but the kids menu looks delish. Topping include chorizo, roasted cured ham and wild mushrooms with a classic margs if you'd rather keep it simple. The kids menu offers pop, pizza and pud for a set price. 19 Bennetts Hill, B2 5QJ Albert's Schloss Think Albert's Schloss is just for hen dos and nights out? Think again. The huge space, with shuffle board upstairs and room to manoeuvre your buggy, is good for babs too. The 'Kinder Menu' features Alpine and Bavarian treats like bratwurst, chicken schnitzel and pomodoro spaghetti and there's breakfasts, Sunday roasts and puddings too. A handy location between LEGO Discovery, the Library of Birmingham, Sea Life Centre and New Street too. "Get on board the Kitty Cafe Express to cuddle town!" they encourage! There's a fee to enter, to help take care of the cats, which is £7 for adults and £5 for kids. That's going up by a quid from April 1. Ciabattas, pizzas and jacket 'purr'tatoes are on the menu but, who cares. There's cats. Expect 'bow buns' bao, waffles, milkshakes and bubble tea. It probably isn't going to be the best food but it's going to be cute! Level 2, Primark, 38 High St, B4 7SL Pho Healthy Vietnamese food is on offer at Pho so hearty, slurpy bowls of tasty noodles as well as skewers of meatballs and chicken are on the kids menu. You'll get sheets to colour in and tasty juices to choose from. The best part about it, though? You'll be dining just above the head of Ozzy the Bull! People watching when he starts roaring and moving that big noggin is the best. Grand Central, Stephenson Pl, B2 4XJ Waterstones Cafe On the first floor of the brilliant bookshop you'll find a cafe to enjoy coffee and cake in. Kids can read through one of their brand new books while you caffeinate! It's not a place for a big fill but if you just want a pitstop during a busy day, it's worth stopping by. It's often busy but worth a peep if you're passing. 24-26 High St, B4 7SL The Exchange This place is opposite the Library of Birmingham, run by the team behind Yorks coffee and they serve hearty, home-style food in a truly gorgeous and spacious historic building. If you're wrangling a buggy, there's just loads of space in here to chill. Choose from salads, sandwiches and cakes and ask about a children's meal deal, which offers good value.
