Roads were cordoned off after two men were stabbed. were called to Four Acre Lane in Clockface, at around 5am today, Thursday, March 28 following reports a man in his 30s had been assaulted. When officers arrived at the scene they found he had stab wounds to his shoulder and hands. A short time later officers were told a second man, also in his 30s, had turned up at a house in a neighbouring street with stab wounds to the chest and back. The man ran off but was found nearby by officers.
police said both men were taken by ambulance to hospital where they are said to be in a stable condition. have now launched an investigation. House-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the area and cordons were also in place to allow for a forensic investigation. A road closure was in place between Burnage Avenue and Neston Avenue and St Helens Council said the car park at Chester Lane Library was also inaccessible. Detective Inspector Alan Wood said: “Our enquiries are clearly at the very early stages as we seek to establish what has happened and we will endeavour to speak to the two men involved as soon as possible. “To assist with the investigation, we would ask anyone who was in the area of Four Acre Lane at around 5am today who saw or heard anything or anyone who believes they captured something on a Ring doorbell, CCTV or dashcam to get in touch as soon as possible. “We will have a visible presence around the shopping centre as enquiries continue.” Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 24000292072.
