Helen Skelton's ex-husband Richie Myler is 'set to be a dad again' after welcoming a child with girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill last year. The rugby star, 33, is reportedly only weeks away from the birth of his fifth child and second with Stephanie, also 33, who is said to be seven-months pregnant. Richie already shares three children, Ernie, Louis and Elsie, with his ex-wife Helen. Former Strictly star Helen, 40, who tied the knot with Richie in 2013, announced their separation in April 2022. In April 2023, it was announced that Richie and new girlfriend Stephanie had welcomed their first child together - a daughter who they called Olivia. Now, one year later, it has been reported that Stephanie - who is the daughter of Andrew Thirkill, one of the wealthiest businessmen in Leeds – and owner of the Leeds Rhinos - is pregnant with their second child. While loved-up couple Richie and Stephanie are reported to be over the
moon by their baby joy, Helen is said to be moving on as best as she can as she navigates life as a single mum. A source told The Sun: “Helen found the news of Richie and Stephanie’s first child painful so this will be difficult. She is moving on as best she can and is focused on being a parent to their children.” Helen is said to be taking the couple's baby news badly ( Image: helenskelton/Instagram) Richie and Stephanie are reportedly set to welcome their second child ( Image: Instagram) Countryfile presenter Helen confirmed that she and Richie had split just four months after the birth of their third child Elsie. Helen is also a proud mum to her her two sons, Ernie, 8, and Louis, 6. The former
Strictly Come Dancing star filed for divorce in April 2022, and her divorce from Richie was finalised back in January. It came two years after heartbroken Helen broke the news to fans online that her marriage was over as she revealed that Richie had left their family home. Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple," she wrote on
Instagram at the time. "He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children. In August last year, Helen abruptly quit her Radio 5 Live show in order to spend more time with her young family. Fellow 5 Live presenter Steve Crossman was on air while Helen worked through her final shift on the radio channel and he confessed he was sad to see her leaving. Helen reacted to his statement, and said: “I know, I don’t want to but an eight-year-old will be happy about it.” Her co-star later asked her how she was feeling about the news, and Helen admitted: “I’m not alright about it but you know, needs must. The juggle is real. An eight-year-old with a sideline needs me.” At the end of her show, she said with emotion in her voice: “That’s it for me on Sundays for now. Thank you for your company over the last year, I’ve loved every minute of our time together on this show… Thank you to all of the team, thank you to all of you. Maybe we’ll meet again soon. It’s hard to know what to say without getting emotional.” The Mirror has contacted Helen and Richie's representatives for comment on this story.
