In keeping with its Week D preview release cadence,
Microsoft today issued Moment 5 for Windows 11 version 22H2 and 23H2. Of course, Moment 5 is an internal name: To the outside world, today’s release is named , and it’s described as a Cumulative Update Preview. Those with who install this update on Windows 11 version 22H2 will see the system updated to build 22621.3374, while those on Windows 11 version 23H2 will go to build 23621.3374. Moment 5 includes a long list of new features, most minor. But the top updates, to my mind, are: This update builds on the previously-available Weather card and adds Sports, Traffic, and Finance cards. Voice access is now available in French, German, and Spanish, and it works across multiple displays. There are also new voice shortcuts that allow you to create custom commands. And Narrator now provides previews of its 10 natural voice choices so you can figure out which to use before downloading. The Windows Share interface now supports Microsoft Teams (free) or, if you sign in with an Entra ID, Microsoft Teams (work or school). Related to this, Nearby Share now supports faster transfer speeds. This update adds one-click suggestions to Snap Layouts. Windows 365 Boot gets a dedicated mode with passwordless authentication, fast account switching, company branding (configured in Intune), and local PC management capabilities. Windows 365 Switch is likewise updated with desktop indicators and other minor improvements. Additionally, KB5035942 delivers servicing stack updates and numerous quality updates, none major. Microsoft plans to deliver Moment 5 to customers in stable on Patch Tuesday in April, or April 9. And it has indicated to European regulators that it should be fully deployed by the end of next month.
