The woman is so irate that she is planning on cancelling birthday plans she had made for the girl. The woman had been over the
moon when her hubby surprised her with plans for a weekend break as part of her birthday gift. They planned to spend a few days in the same place they had their honeymoon, so it was sure to be a romantic holiday. The couple share an 11-year-old girl and the mum asked her stepdaughter if she could babysit her younger half-sister for the weekend, with the 20-year-old happily agreeing, The Mirror reports. While she was enjoying her big day, the stepdaughter called to check which dates they were planning on travelling. And when their schedule was confirmed, the stepdaughter went back on her earlier promise and revealed she couldn't babysit any more. Taking to Mumsnet to vent about the situation, the stepmother revealed she had planned a big surprise for the girl's milestone 21st birthday - but she now wanted to axe them. She said: "My Husband had arranged a surprise weekend away for me and him to go back to where we honeymooned (short haul destination), and organised for stepdaughter (20) to come and stay to look after daughter (11). "When stepdaughter called to wish me happy birthday, I thanked her for having daughter whilst we go away. 'Aww no problem' she said. "Within minutes she phoned my husband asking when we go, she said she could no longer do that date as she had plans that couldn't be changed (night out/seeing friends). There was no apology to either of us, I've not heard from her since, she would normally wish me happy Mother's Day but I didn't hear from her." The younger daughter has autism , so can only be minded by someone she is comfortable with. And at such short notice, there was nobody suitable that could help out - so the couple had to cancel their plans. Join the Daily Record

The gutted woman continued:: "Her 21st is coming up and I had booked a gorgeous big cottage for a long weekend for us to celebrate, there's room for her to bring her boyfriend and a couple of
Friends and for some extended family to join us too. "I paid the deposit last year and now the balance is due and in all honesty I don't want to pay it any more, I feel like cancelling and losing the deposit. Not out of spite, but just a feeling of 'why should I bloody bother?'" Mumsnet users flooded the post with supportive comments. One person replied: "You can simply cancel on the basis that she’s not reliably prepared to save dates." Another added: "I think you'd be unreasonable if you didn't cancel the reservation. What she did was so out of order." Don't miss the latest news from around
