Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing for what could be his final international tournament this summer. Despite not playing in a pre-Euros friendly match, his team-mates showed that they can still perform well without him. The 39-year-old holds the record for the most appearances and goals for Portugal, with 205 games and 128 goals to his name. Even though he's now playing in the Saudi Pro League, he's still part of the plans for Euro 2024, where he hopes to add to his record of the most senior international goals. Sweden as he was given a rest. However, he's expected to return on Tuesday when Portugal plays Slovenia. There was even a new player wearing the number seven shirt, which has been Ronaldo's number since 2007. This gave Bruma a chance to wear the iconic number, reports the Mirror . The Braga winger is one of only a few players other than Ronaldo to have worn the number seven shirt for Portugal since 2007. Former Wolves winger Trincao wore the jersey in a friendly with Qatar in 2021, while midfielder Sergio Oliveira did the honours the previous year in a UEFA Nations League victory over Croatia. Bruma, who came on at half time against Sweden, scored the fourth of Portugal's five goals in a 5-2 victory. Rafael Leao, Matheus Nunes, Bruno Fernandes and Goncalo Ramos were the others on target, with Viktor Gyokeres and Gustaf Nilsson scoring for the Swedes. "A coach likes to have headaches, but the March training camp is not the time for that," manager Martinez said after his team's victory. "This is the time to gather information and create team spirit. May 19th, the day before the call-up, is the day to have headaches".
