Football A groin injury will keep
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne out of tonight’s FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle . The issue is minor but serious enough to rule the Belgian star out and he will also sit out his country’s internationals later this month . City hope De Bruyne will be fit to face
Arsenal on March 31 but he will miss tonight’s cup clash with Newcastle . The cup holders can at least take solace that the injury does not appear to be a repeat of the hamstring problems which have plagued the player since last year. Elsewhere, Jack Grealish is in line to return after being sidelined with a groin injury since last month. Ederson has also been ruled out after picking up while conceding the penalty in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with
Liverpool. Reserve goalkeeper Stefan Ortega will have been the pick to play between the posts anyway, as
Pep Guardiola like many others rotates his shot-stoppers for cup games. Otherwise there are not expected to be many surprises with City likely to pick their strongest available line-up after a midweek off and with an international break looming.
