California with her two children while
Prince Harry attends King Charles Coronation next month. Buckingham Palace announced today that Harry will be part of the congregation inside Westminster Abbey to witness King Charles and
Queen Camilla being crowned on May 6. Meghan, however, will remain in the US while Harry travels back to the
UK for the historic event. It's been reported that Meghan is likely to be staying at home, as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet did not receive invitations to the Coronation , as sources cited that they are "very young". The date of Charles Coronation also falls on awkward timing for the Sussexes as it fell on Archie's fourth birthday. The clashing date reportedly caused a lot of stress for the Duke and Duchess, as the couple decided Meghan will stay home to celebrate with their son, writes the Mirror . Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey." The announcement now ends months of speculation about whether or not the couple would be at the Coronation, which has been causing a lot of drama behind the scenes. The Palace said in a statement: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the
Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The
Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet." Royal Family. Coronation organisers will now be able to finalise all of the arrangements, including the seating plan, security and transport. Last week, it was revealed that the King and Queen will celebrate their coronation by appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony with just the senior working royals. Charles decision to show a united front of his closest family members will show his vision of a slimmed down monarchy, palace insiders said. An insider told OK! that a major sticking point for the couple was if Archie and Lilibet were to be included on the day. The source explained that their inclusion in the ceremony has "never been a bone of contention" because small children don’t attend royal events of this scale "due to restlessness and tantrums". Royals latest news Prince Harry will attend Coronation King Charles' request Harry barred from pub Kate Middleton's Coronation outfit Royal historian and author Dr Tessa Dunlop previously said it would be "odd" if Archie has not been invited to the event. She told True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat: "If you look at the footage of the 1953 Coronation, who was very prominent, albeit briefly? Prince Charles. He was four. Archie on his fourth birthday is definitely not too young to attend the Coronation. And if you want Meghan there, you need to invite her son."
