Brooke Baldwin is getting ready to sign off one last time at CNN.
The
CNN anchor, who joined the network as a freelancer in 2008, announced Tuesday she's leaving in mid-April. In an emotional segment, Baldwin described serving as a full-time correspondent for CNN as a dream come true.
"The next chapter of my life will be focused on what I love the most about my work: amplifying the lives of extraordinary Americans and putting my passion for storytelling to good use," Baldwin said. "...There is just more I need to do."
Baldwin, who will release her first book in April, thanked viewers for their "loyalty and passion for the world we cover," and she acknowledged feeling "very vulnerable" as she's set to leave the network without plans to immediately begin another
Job.
"But what is it Brené Brown says? Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change," Baldwin told viewers. "And I am so excited about what is to come."
This is the latest shake-up for CNN after
NBC News reported that anchor Brianna Keilar is set to move to the network's morning show New Day, while New Day co-host Alisyn Camerota will head to the afternoons. Journalist Yashar Ali also reported Tuesday that CNN's Ana Cabrera and Victor Blackwell "are set to take over Brooke Baldwin's slot at CNN with their own programs."
