Government’s response to intelligence inquiry and Moss review includes changing search warrant rules in wake of raids on ABC and Annika Smethurst
The Morrison government has accepted a number of reforms recommended by the parliamentary joint committee on intelligence and security, including a requirement that the government consider additional defences for public interest journalism for secrecy offences.
The government on Wednesday responded to the recommendations of the intelligence committee after a year-long inquiry that was sparked by controversial
police raids on the ABC and the then-News Corporation journalist Annika Smethurst.
